A day in the life of President Bush (3/4/06): Photos from Pakistan
Yahoo News Photos & White House ^ | 3/4/06

PRESIDENTIAL NEWS OF THE DAYL President and Mrs. Bush and the presidential party have safely left Pakistan for home after a remarkable 5-day trip to nuclear rivals, India and Pakistan. Using diplomatic finesse his detractors claim is beyond him, the President balanced vists to both countries while achieving a significant civilian nuclear technology treaty with India.

As I post this thread, there are no photos of the presidential party arriving home in Washington.

Today's thread is an abbreviated one due to the fact that I spent much of the day getting tires and brakes on my car. Sigh. Even though I started out early and hoped to be home by early afternoon, waits at mechanics are never short, it seems.

I will do a full report and thread on the President's trip and arrival back home tomorrow.

The President gets hit with a pitch during a cricket match. It was a tennis ball instead of the usual rock-hard ball normally used in cricket.

President Bush drops the bat after being hit by a cricket pitch during a cricket workshop with players from the Islamabad College for Boys at the U.S. embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan.

A straight arm while bowling, a raised elbow when batting. Good job, Mr President!

President Bush gives autograph to the players from Islamabad College for Boys. These are Islamic boys who are supposed to hate everything about the United States and President Bush, but they wanted his autograph!!! Skilled diplomacy comes in many forms.

The President leaves Pakistan with First Lady Laura Bush after a two-day visit to that country. The presidential party left from Chaklala air base in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Bush praised Pakistan's fight against terrorism as unfaltering, but turned down an appeal for the same civilian nuclear help the U.S. intends to give India, Pakistan's archrival.

Abbreviated or not, THANKS! I'm sure glad they're headed back.

I know what you mean about mechanics--it once took them 4 hrs. to change the oil in my car.
