Party Hacks (Feverish Leftist Cries about Diebold; Schadenfreude factor HIGH)
The Moscow Times ^ | 3-3-6 | Chris Floyd

Two weeks ago, an obscure, unelected, Republican-appointed official in California decided the future of the world. That future -- at least for the next several years -- will be an accelerating nightmare of war, corruption, repression, atrocity and terror. That's because the loyal apparatchik has, with the stroke of a pen, guaranteed the perpetuation of the Bush faction in power in 2008 and beyond.

[snip]

Thus, the sudden, hugger-mugger decision by California Secretary of State Bruce McPherson to override the objections of his own experts and certify the eminently hackable voting machines of the politically partisan firm, Diebold, for use throughout the state means, quite simply, that the fix is in for 2008. It doesn't matter who the Democrats run -- Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards, George Clooney or Jesus H. Christ in an Uncle Sam suit. It won't make a bit of difference. California is lost, the presidency is lost and the Bushists are in -- already. It's over.

Come into the fever swamp and enjoy the schadenfreudische feast!

Diebold is going to throw Kollyfornia to the Republican column. Dogs and Cats, living together . . . mass hysteria!

LOL

I don't care who's crying about Diebold, as long as more people are doing it. My state certified them even though they didn't meet the standards.

Anyone who thinks Diebold should be in the election business should read the Diebold internal memos that they tried to keep hidden from us.

It's impossible to tell the difference from stuff coming out of the Moscow times and the DNC.

Have they been stealing Constimatooshonalist Party votes?

The left firmly believes that Bush is an idiot and a fascist. So they blame his election on crooked voting machines.

I really hope all these hard leftist really are giving up. That would do two things:

1. Increase the GOP margin of victory in 2008.

2. Allow the Dims to move back toward the center and become a party that supports America and provides the GOP with real competition. That is the Dims can turn themselves back into Dems hopefully.

The Dims likely have to get nominating Hillary out of the way first. And then the Clintons can be known as the couple who destroyed the old radical left Dim party and may way for the morphing of the party back into something that looks like a traditional US opposition party.

Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine agreeing with anything from the pen of a Russian Communist but there is one small point of agreement. McPherson should have said NO to the machines.

No idea, but their machines are very hackable, they don't adhere to policy (like not modifying machines after certification and before election), and they don't even care. They'd rather spend money on lawyers and politicians to thwart legal challenges than spend it to just fix their damn machines.

I prefer paper ballots myself. But I found the hysteria in this column to be hilarious:

Diebold and ES&S were both bankrolled by tycoon Howard Ahmanson, who was also a major funder of the Christian "Reconstructionist" movement, which openly advocates a totalitarian theocracy in America, including the death penalty for homosexuals, slavery for debtors, stoning for sinners and stripping nonbelievers of citizenship.

The day after the election, one of the moonbats on Air America went on a tirade about Diebold, the so called Christian "Reconstructionist" movement, and how Bush was about to unleash the forces of fascism on America to turn us into a "Christian Iran" or something along those lines.

If Republicans won California but their margin of victory was so small that California's electoral votes were required, it would be obvious that repubilcans cheated so it's not going to happen. It would be like the democrats winning Oklahoma in 2000 and thereby winning the election. No one would believe that Oklahoma voted Rat when Florida, Ohio, Nevada and New Hampshire didn't.

Two weeks ago, an obscure, unelected, Republican-appointed official in California decided the future of the world.

An official who was appointed to fill a office vacated by the previous officeholder, who faces election this year, and was approved by every single member of the most partisan legislature in the nation.

But of course, they won't be blaming their own party for the issue.

I really like it when Democrats crawl out on the ledge like this. It lets me know that for all of the GOP's flaws, it retains the ability to drive the left around the bend.

They're supposed to be updating voting technology in New York for the next presidential election.

I like the look of things!
