JERUSALEM: Israels defence ministry has authorised Israeli companies to resume the export of military hardware to China after months of trade blocked under US pressure, an official said Thursday.
Procedures for granting export permits is open again, an official from the ministry told AFP on condition of anonymity.
The director of the ministry, Yaakov Toren, was quoted as saying in the Israeli press that some export permits were issued in cooperation with the United States.
Companies will come and see us (at the defence ministry) and we will judge on a case by case basis with or without consultation with the United States, Toren said.
We are two independent countries which respect their relative interests, the director said.
The ministry also intends to set up a special department responsible for supervising necessary authorisation for companies wishing to export weapons. afp
They have problem lefties just as we do.
Our friends the Israelis, who are selling Communist China the avionics to be used on their next generation fighter. And people on this web site castigate me and call me name when I state that it is well known at DARPA that anything technical that we give to the Israelis is sold to Communist China.
This P*SSES me off to no end! We give aid to Israel then they sell out to China! WTF! They have done this stuff before, and paid no price for it.
This is just not right....a friend of mine used to tell me that any US military technology that was shared with Israel went to Communist China automatically. Never believed him because I thought the Israelis knew better.
Guess I was wrong.
Maybe we should join Dubai and the other Arab countries in a boycott of Israel. Surely China will protect them.
Good point....
Every time you make a post like that, substitute "Bill Clinton" for "Israel" and the same people will tell you what a great poster you are.
It's basically an item of religious belief around here that China's military would be armed with sharpened sticks and rocks if it was for what "Clinton gave them." They don't want to hear about any technology transfer to the Chinese from any other source than the Clinton administration and they want to believe all their advanced technology is from that source.
Maybe they doing it because the rest of the world have turn they back on Israel
Well look at this
Iran have said that they will wipe Israel of map
Chin needs more oil for their growing economy
Iran has massive oil reserves
If Iran attacks Israel China will leap to they defence and invade Iran and take they oil just like Bush has done in Iraq
"Israel would not exist without the US."
I think it's a lot truer to say that without its Jews, the U.S. would not be the world's pre-eminent power.
You also seem to forget that had Israel not taken Iraq's nuclear reactor out (opposed vehemently by the rest of the world including the Reagan White House), Saddam would now have nuclear weapons and Americans would be building nuclear shelters in their backyards.
If Israel is now selling stuff to China, I'm sure its with U.S. agreement. Now a real threat to American security comes from the huge sums the U.S. is forced to borrow every single year not just from China but also the oil-rich Islamofascist states. Absolutely nothing could possibly put the U.S. in a more precarious position than that.
One more thing: American is supplying many billions of dollars of the most advanced military hardware to Israel's greatest enemies every single year, and you're complaining about this?
How stupid of Israel. The technology that they export to Red China will undoubtedly be placed into the hands of Israel's enemies. Indeed, Red China itself IS one of Israel's strategic enemies.
Coming from the person who has said that it doesn't matter a damn that the Dubai company which is buying the U.S. ports is boycotting Israel, I think we can safely dismiss the fact that you are p***ed off with this.
Could you be any greater a kook?
"The technology that they export to Red China will undoubtedly be placed into the hands of Israel's enemies. Indeed, Red China itself IS one of Israel's strategic enemies."
The U.S., as I pointed out above, exports many billions of dollars worth of military hardware to Israel's enemies anyhow.
The heck are you talking about?
