"I'd take Halliburton over U.A.E. at this point, if I had to take a choice right now," Schumer told the Fox News Channel on Feb. 20. Something about being careful what you wish for.

We were joking about Halliburton taking over a couple of weeks ago. Rush mentioned it. John Gibson on FOX and now Newsmax says this may be in works. This will be fun to watch the dems implode!

Let's give the liberals a choice: Halliburton or Dubai

Maybe we should not be toooo hasty in pulling the bjclinton face off the Dubai Ports World deal. Would be real nice to have a public face off between old bj and his first senator woman.

As I said then, what a stick in the eye of the demo/left it would be for Halliburton to operate the ports. That one thing would keep a smirk on my face til the end of time. :o)

At least Haliburton is our Haliburton and not beholden to possible foreign treachery.

The Long Beach deal allowed the Chinese government-owned company to retain a 51 percent controlling interest in PMS.So even though there is precendent for this sort of agreement, (COSCO, Agusta Wesland) in actuality the majority remains with the overseas firm.
More evidence, IMO, that these are face-saving measures for politicians to use with primarily the unions and also the public to a degree.

Schumer explained that Democats hate Halliburton not for any security reasons, but because "they made large amounts of profit" from what he said were no-bid contracts in the Iraq war. It should be noted that Halliburton posted rather large net income losses, not profits, for 2002, 2003 and 2004.

No. I'm probably what you'd describe as a "pro-UAE supporter", because I've had little problem with the deal. I have little problem with this either, especially if it helps us politically. Also, notice he's not thinking of dropping the Dubai company in favor of Halliburton, he's thinking of having them team up together.

This would be so funny. From someone who owns stock in Halliburton, (and carries around his laptop in a gun-metal Zero-Halliburton computer case), that would be soooooo cool!
