March 4, 2006 -- Has there ever been a slicker political double-play combination than Bill and Hillary Clinton? Consider how the former president, and the desperately-wants-to-be president, seek to have it both ways in the controversy over the Dubai ports deal.

Sen. Hillary - joined by her New York colleague, Chuck Schumer, and New Jersey's Bob Menendez - has emerged as a leading voice in opposition to the deal, saying, "Our port security is too important to place in the hands of foreign governments."

FWIW, I am working on the campaign of a Major QM USA (ret.) in a local election. He has 10 years in Navy, nearly 30 years with army (reserve now) and currently with the US Coast Guard. A good man that we need in the government here.

Which side will run the military?
Which side will determine cabinet appointments?
Which side will run Foreign Policy?
Which one will negotiate with foreign governments?

Hey, MNJohnnie - I'd listen to a real Coast Guardsman now serving - like Tonk. I bet he knows what's up, better than most of us in MN! As far as I can determine, the Duluth/Superior port is not affected. I'm not sure though; so if it's different what I think, let me know. Tonk currently serves in the Coast Gaurd Auxilliary.
