AB606 would give inappropriate, draconian power to the California Superintendent of Public Instruction to unilaterally withhold state funds from school districts that don’t promote transsexuality, bisexuality, and homosexuality according to his arbitrary “standards.” Because two-thirds of a school districts’ funds come from the state, AB 606 would interrupt and destroy the academic learning of millions of California schoolchildren.

AB 606 attacks local control by removing the time-honored authority of school boards to select appropriate curriculum related to sexual matters. For example, all schools would be required to define “gender” as “a person's gender identity and gender related appearance and behavior whether or not stereotypically associated with the person's assigned sex at birth.”

This subjective sexual agenda, combined with the hammer of the California Department of Education, would greatly interrupt our educational priorities – which obviously should be reading, writing, and computing. AB 606 makes every California school a trans-bi-homosexual school…or else!

I believe it, MA will be next. A lot of places already do it. Never mind that all a pedophile who wants a little girl has to do is dress as a woman, and he can enter any ladies room he wants. If anyone thinks this type of law won't cause that, think again. Already in many MA towns, there are ordinances in place which allow people to use whichever restroom they feel more comfortable in, even encourage the general public to accompany these trans people. Other places have unisex bathrooms.

Assigned at birth?? They seem to think that when you're born, somebody randomly puts a “male” or “female” tag on you. Whether you're male or female is determined by the presence or absence of an Y-chromosome—at conception! And this Y-chromosome is either present or absent in every single cell of your body. Don't they teach that in biology class anymore?

CA already has a law on the books (since 2000, IIRC) mandating pro-homosexual cirricula. The last I knew schools were required to have "specially trained" people come in and indoctrinate the kids; K-12. Where I was living a few years ago they had Planned Parenthood come in and harass kids who didn't think "gay is good". Obviously, this bill is even worse.

There are so many problems with public education, that belittling them for using a dictionary just strikes me a dumb.

There is nothing earth shattering here, it's just a standard attempt to regulate not behavior, but the thought behind the behavior. Personally I could care less what someone was thinking when they do something, thoughts don't effect me, actions do. I don't care if a kid was harassing another for being gay, a geek, fat or just supporting the wrong football team,, harassment is harassment and should be dealt with as such.
