Why didn't 4 MILLION slaves rise up in revolt as Lincoln/Garrison et al desired, pull another John Brown and slaughter every living white person in the South? If the actions of the Confederates were so despicable, then those blacks/slaves closest to men like Lee and Jackson would fill volumes with their contempt, yet history is replete with passages expressing admiration for them, and advocating monuments to them.
