The removal of the Confederate flag from Amherst County's official seal has upset Southern heritage groups, who contend residents weren't told of the change. County officials acknowledge the image was quietly removed in August 2004 to avoid an uproar.

What about those millions of Southerners who did not support the Treason of their leaders? Were they not Southerner?
Those Southerners were the true Americans.

I just gave you all a slice of reality by pointing out the CLEAR superiority of the North to the South in all matters cultural and technological. The wasteland the Slavers made of the promising culture of the 1700s sent the region into an abyss of ignorance and ultimate destruction.
There is no comparison in those terms though I would be happy to see you try and prove otherwise.

Was any battle of Grant's marked by as foolhardy an event as Pickett's Charge? I didn't think so.
BTW the commonplace conception of Grant is like virtually all commonplace conceptions is completely wrong. Vicksburg was a fine piece of militray work. Was there some other more successful major siege operation that took place in the 19th century?

The ultimate judge of cultural superiority: fakeit.
So now the yankee army was attempting to instill it's superior culture? Were Sherman's men singing opera tunes while Columbia burned?

There were signatures ONLY for representatives of the United States of America. The negoitiators negoitated for the Nation not the states. If each state was fully sovereign then there would have been negoitators for each state along with separate signatory lines for them indentifying them as representing ONLY one state not an entire nation. Can you provide an example of what you're talking about? Without it, I do not think I can understand what you've said above.
The continental congress appointed the commisioners to negotiate peace for the several states. The continental congress unanimously accepted the treaty. Peace was made, and prisoners released, with unanimous acceptance by the Continental Congress. Adams, Franklin, Jay, and Laurens didn't make peace, they negotiated a treaty. That is what they were sent there to do. The cannons didn't stop with the stroke of their pen. You seem to be confused about the process.
By your thinking, and the process of the Paris peace treaty, France is part of our Union, since we would not negotiate peace without cessation of hostilities amongst the allies.
France is not part of our union, is it?

Grant was facing Pemberton at Vicksburg. It was a siege.
And Cold Harbor was worse than Pickett's Charge.
To: justshutupandtakeit
Keep on thinking that. Your opinion of yourself just keeps growing.

Anyone who is interested can go to past threads or even back into this one.In other words, you can't PROVE your ludicrous assertations. How yankee of you.

And there is no evidence that Lincoln profited from the transaction. Just your rather vivid imagination. So your assertion is that Lincoln was dumber than a rock, that he paid $3,000 for 17 lots totaling 160 acres so that he could make LOSE money on them. And that he placed the terminus of the railroad just 2 blocks from the aforesaid land owned by himself, knowing that said property values would increase DECREASE in value by thousands of percent?
Bwahahahahahaha!

First thing you need to do is learn to read not read what you want something to say.
"Your not even smart enough to know how dump some of your post are."
Yes I miss spelled dumb. There is a difference between your and you're (you are).
And yes I was posting about a single post.
Yes you prove the point that you and a few others try to change the subject when you get on the losing side

you are CORRECT!
in this particular case, what is being presented by the unionist coven is REVISIONIST (and KNOWINGLY untruthful) propaganda, out of the MOST extreme, LEFTIST/SOCIALIST (some would say Marxist-Leninist), lunatic fringe of northeastern, "poison-ivy league" academia.
fwiw, those "academics" laugh behind their hands AT anyone, who is ignorant/naive enough to believe their KNOWING lies. furthermore, they would NOT spit on their audience if the "true believers" were on fire.
