Two persons were killed and more than 10 injured as violence erupted Friday during anti-Bush demonstrations with protestors fighting pitched battles with shopkeepers and police in several areas of Lucknow.

The protestors went around trying to force closure of shops in Latouche Road, Aminabad, Kaiserbagh, Nazirabad, Maulviganj and Hazratganj areas and "indulged in heavy brickbatting", Inspector-General of Police (Lucknow zone) O P Tripathi said.

He confirmed that one person died on the spot due to a bullet injury in Latouche Road area while another succumbed to injuries in hospital.

The injured were admitted to KGMU Trauma Centre and Balrampur hospital.

The IG said 10 companies of the PAC had been deployed and claimed that the situation was now under control.

The processionists, who were protesting the visit of US President George W Bush, damaged shops and vehicles in stone-pelting and set several two-wheelers ablaze in various parts of the city, he said.

Police deployed on security duty for visiting President A P J Abdul Kalam were relocated and patrolling roads and lanes of the affected areas.

The trouble erupted after the protestors attended Friday prayers and marched through the streets of the city trying to force closure of shops, which was opposed by the locals.

All the main markets in Lucknow closed down following the incident.

Brad Cloven Wrote: "I like your optimism. On what is it based?"

- My optimism is based on several factors. I like to call it the 6 paths to the destruction of Islam.

1. Modern Communications Technology: Anyone who has seriously studied Islam, read the Koran and at least some of the Hadith knows that Islam’s prophet Mohammed and the origin of the god Allah knows that Mohammed was a narcissistic, pedophilic, murdering, torturing, assassin, caravan robbing, war monger, slave driver, terrorist, misogynist, psychopath and that Allah was one of a thousand cherry picked pagan gods already worshiped at Mecca prior to Mohammed. Technologies like the internet allow the truth to be spread to billions of people who only have to question the validity of my claim against Mohammed and Allah to discover the truth for themselves. In TV and Radio we see and hear the fruit of Muslim hatred, intolerance and hypocrisy. We learn that 25 out of the 26 regions of the world currently engaged in shooting conflicts, Muslims are on one side and everyone else on the other. Books and websites from Ibn Warraq, Salman Rushdie, Bat Yeor, Robert Spencer, Ali Sina, Daniel Pipes and others are reaching millions of people seeking questions and answers. What this all means there is a HUGE underground anti-Islamic movement gaining traction worldwide. All thanks to the very technologies Islamic abhor.

2. You will know evil by its fruit: The hypocrisy of Islam is reaching the eyes and ears of millions. Every day terror attacks kill innocent people, demonstration over asinine instigators like cartoons and lies of flushed Korans, hazing of terrorist prisoners at detention facilities, the brutal assassination and torture of those critical to Islam like Theo Van Goh and many other such excuses Muslims use to maim, kill and destroy. Fatwas pronounced by their religious and political leaders to kill those who criticize. Sooner or later people are going to stop being brainwashed by the leftist MSM and realize that Islam does not mean “peace” it never has and it never will. Islam has always been a violent religion. Its religious books and teaching are based on violence & hate and its prophet was a violent and disturbing man. There is no logical way to defend Islam’s lunacy. And we see the fruit of it every time we turn on the TV.

3. Abandoning oil: Islam produces moribund economies, no scientific advancement and backward medieval people. If it were not for the discovery of oil the population of the Middle East would 1/5 what it is today and they would be the poorest people on earth. New energy technologies such as bio fuels, renewable energy, nuclear, fusion, zero point, etc. will eventually cease our demand of oil and move western civ away from fossil fuels. Without oil revenues Islamic regimes will have no power.

4. Iran: It has been said that upwards of 70% of Iranians are Muslim in name only, coerced by fear, sick and tired of Islam and the stranglehold it a placed on Iran. Islam is hated in Iran, especially among the generation born and raised after Islamic Revolution. Iran is pregnant with history-making events. Visit any Iranian forum on the Internet and see the level of hate that the Iranians feel for Islam. The Iranian students inside the country feel the same way, though they are unable to vent their anger now. As soon as this atmosphere of terror is lifted, all that anger will come to the surface and Islam will die in Iran with the same swiftness and violence that it was imposed 1400 years ago. As Iranians start attacking Islam openly and blame it for all that went wrong in their country it will have a domino effect in all Islamic world. The immediate outcome of the fall of Islam in Iran is that the Islamist terrorist groups in Lebanon, Palestine, Pakistan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and other countries will have their financial supply cut off. This in itself will hamper their activities and dampen their fervor. But the biggest blow on Islam would be psychological. Throughout the centuries, Iran has been a major player in the Middle East and it has always set the standard. After the demise of Islam in Iran, Muslims in the neighboring countries would feel disheartened and their faith will weaken.

5. Freedom & Capitalism: Freedom allows people to live how they want and opens the door for the flow of information and ideas to spread quickly and openly without fear of reprisal. Capitalism is the engine and dynamo of economic prosperity and personal happiness and hope which has lifted millions of people out of poverty worldwide. These two ideals come hand in hand which combined are the most powerful forces for change and reform our world has ever known. It created the resolve and zeal to defeat Nazism, bankrupted and collapsed the Soviet Union and is on its way to an eventual revolution in China. Open information, freedom and prosperity. Freedom and prosperity…The greatest forces for human happiness and enlightenment and the darth of Islam which relies on ignorance, stupidity and indoctrination to spread and grow. Freeing Iraq (which lies in the heart of Islamic Hegemony) is a monumental step in order to crack open a secretive, isolationist and shackled Middle East and allows these two forces to permeate and spread their wings of change.

6. The Golden Rule: As the war on terror rages, people die, misery spreads and people once again begin to question the values that allowed Western Civilization to grow and flourish, more and more people will begin to understand that the difference between Good and Evil can be described as The Golden Rule vs. Moral Relativism. The golden rule dictates to “treat others as you would want to be treated”. It also happens to be the #1 moral foundation of every major religion except for one, Islam; each with their own variation of the same theme. Islam however, very much like other evil doctrines, has its base foundation “moral relativism” or “do what Mohammed and Allah said, even if wrong or evil, or else”. This moral relativism is also the base ideological construct of Leftism, Hedonism, Communism, Fascism, Totalitarianism, Socialism, Cultism, Satanism, etc. As one evil falls a new one takes its place because we still haven’t learned collectively what is at the root of it all. We still haven’t waged war against the foundation of evil, merely its symptoms. We all have a choice, live by the enlightenment of the golden rule or live under the yoke and tyranny of moral relativism. I choose the former.

Excellent and thoughtful post. In 1945, Douglas MacArthur requested 10,000 Christian missionaries for Japan. People whose bushido/shinto faith had been shaken were open to alternatives. What he got was the emissaries of materialism, such as Edwards Deming, whose name is upon that nation's most prestigious industrial award (the Deming Prize for quality manufacturing).

I grew up under the shadow of The Bomb, in a culture whose leaders had already conceded the war, and were doing their best to cut secret deals with the anticipated winners (See Whitaker Chambers' excellent book Witness). Then, suddenly, almost overnight, the Red Menace has evaporated. This time, we were a little better prepared. I got to go on a missions tourism trip in 1992, and met warm and friendly people who were looking for a new way to structure their lives. The church I now attend immediately sent out folks to plant churches in Ukraine, Poland, and Austria.

Will we be ready when Islam is discredited, and a billion of our fellow men and women are looking for new and better answers? I know at least one guy in our church who is studying Turkish ...

Are you aware of former Muslim Ali Sina's debate with a Muslim ideologue over the Golden Rule? It's very good

http://www.faithfreedom.org/Articles/sina50428.htm
(EXCERPT)
To my surprise, once this Muslim learned that I am a practitioner of the Golden Rule, he launched his attack at the Golden Rule and in a “rebuttal” that he titled “The Golden Rule: Cult of Ali Sina”  he wrote:

Mr. Sina said that he will be making the allegations against Prophet Muhammad (SAW) on the basis that the Prophet (SAW) has violated the “Golden Rule”. As he says Islam contradicts the “Golden Rule”; the rule is his “criterion” and “yard stick”. Therefore, Mr. Sina has to prove the legitimacy of the “Golden Rule” otherwise it is a mere assumption. In the absence of proof, Mr. Sina would be violating his first rule which he stated earlier: “he must be able to prove that assumption or withdraw it”!

I already knew that Islam is contrary to the Golden Rule and in fact this is precisely why I oppose it. But I did not expect a Muslim admit to it and defy this universal principle so openly. The fact that this Muslim called the Golden Rule, “Cult of Ali Sina” makes me think that he had never heard of this basic human principle.

Thank you for the encouragement. If anyone wants to start a new thread with the "6 steps" it is fine with me. I'm not the type of person to post threads with my own material.

If any of you do, be sure to credit Ali Sina from faithfreedom.org for most of #4 "Iran". I forgot to do that when I posted it originally.

I highly recommend Ali Sina site by the way. I visit it often. If you haven't visited it, make it a point to do so, it is a real eye opener. One of you also mentioned that Sina spoke about the Golden Rule. I did read that debate as I read most of them. His debate solidified in me what I already knew to be true, it's logic is undeniable. Great stuff.
