An old acquaintance in Washington - a former member of Republican administrations whose foreign policy views are decidedly hard-line - recently had this to say to a friend about the Bush administration: What total BULLCRAP! This is like the callers to shows that start off "I've been a lifeline Republican but am now voting for (fill in some far left kook)".

"If someone said each and every thing you ever did was wrong, would you listen to them?"
No you tune them out. Thats one reason the polls fluctuate the way they do. People start to see the MSM snowjob and realize its "the boy who cried wolf".

LOL. Rumsfeld as Press Secretary . . .
The President's Staff probably likes the fact that the Potomac river separates the Pentagon from the White House.

James Klurfeld of Newsday says we should not try to spread freedom around the world because freedom is hard and we aren't that good at it anyway.
He says that President Bush is out of touch with the people.
Newsday, which inflated it's circulation and got caught is going to lecture us on honesty too. I don't think so.

Let's not forget that in the process of ending the cold war era he broke the soviet economy in the process. What a president!

"I know its true, because I said so". Thats basically all the left really has. Sure, Bush has a problem with the ports deal and public opinion, but thats the way it goes.
Considering all the man has gone through, the most difficult Presidency since WWII, I think he has done just fine..

Claim: Newsday editor tried to influence vote with calls
A Nassau County legislator claims Newsday editorial page editor James M. Klurfeld tried to influence the selection of a new presiding officer by making calls to legislators and others who could sway them. Klurfeld acknowledges calling one lawmaker "to find out what was going on and to express our opinion. My job is to express the opinion of Newsday."

Newsday is three steps to the left of the NYTs. Nobody I know on LI takes this rag seriously and we get it only when we need to see the ads.

I just keep telling myself that the majority of the naysayers are Republicans right now, we/I will not endorse the Democrats. The Dems win if we do not show up to vote! Bottom line.

Bush continues to ignore the base on a number of issues. And the base continues wearing its blinders, pounding its chest and declaring "What have you done for me lately, Dubya?"

"W" will come through this just fine. Not perfect but fine. The RINOS that want to jump on the RAT bandwagon, weel let them.

All the libs are crying for Donald Rumsfeld's head. I say we ask Rumsfeld to step down, and hire him on as Press Secretary. We could sell tickets, the proceeds of which could decrease the national debt, and humiliate the press all at the same time. ROTFL!!! I love that idea, except that I don't want to lose Rummy as SecDef. Oy, the dilemma...

I guess the Dimorats are proving that a power base built on hate is better than a base built on self preservation.
I find many of those who call themselves conservatives to be nothing more than witless keyboard warriors deserving more the title NAMBY PAMBY than trusted base.

Some of us have an eye on future elections, beginning with the 2006 primary season.
