Robertson Loses Seat on Religious Broadcasters' Board

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (March 2) - Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson, criticized by some evangelicals for comments about Venezuela's president and Israel's prime minister, lost a bid for re-election to the National Religious Broadcasters' board of directors.

Robertson, founder of the Virginia Beach-based Christian Broadcasting Network, was one of 38 candidates for 33 board seats during the NRB's recent convention. The group represents mostly evangelical radio and TV broadcasters.

NRB President Frank Wright said there was no broad effort to distance the group from Robertson. But "there was broad dismay with some of Pat's comments and a feeling they were not helpful to Christian broadcasters in general," he said in Wednesday's Washington Post.

Speaking of Pat Robertson, I came across this earlier:

Pat Robertson's Regent University Law School came face to face with the ABA's accreditation process. When Regent graduated its first law students, the ABA withheld accreditation. This meant that the law students would not be able to take the Bar examination and would never be able to practice law. Fortunately, Regent Law School taught their students how to litigate. Several of the students, on their own, filed a federal suit against the ABA alleging antitrust violations. These students drafted the lawsuit while studying for final exams. This team of bleary-eyed law students, who suffered sleep deprivation while preparing for final exams and preparing their first federal lawsuit, ultimately brought the ABA to its knees. The ABA agreed to settle with the students by granting full accreditation to Regent if the students agreed to dismiss their suit.

One has to wonder why, if the ABA really had a good case to withhold accreditation, did it bow down to a group of young, inexperienced law students? The answer is simple. In reviewing the ABA's accreditation process, it is clear the ABA is arbitrary and is out to push its agenda. Just like most of the ABA programs, the ABA is not truly concerned with the legal profession or the quality of legal education as much as it is with wielding immense political power to achieve its liberal agenda.

He will not be missed.

I hope he's good with God, I really do, but he's worthless on earth as far as I'm concerned.

I'm sure God has some sort of mission for him, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what it is.

Almost everything in this bit of scripture that you've posted was refuted by Jesus. Jesus did not teach us of a jealous God or that sins would be placed on subsequent generations for the sins committed by the parents. What Jesus taught was quite different. If you're a Christian, perhaps you should embrace the NT just a little bit more...it is the better news: the GOOD NEWS!

Just My Opinion but I like Pat Robertson.

Looks like some evangelicals are playing politics hoping to garner humanistic political power with the secularists who hate all forms of Christianity.

Do we have closet secularists posting here on FR?

I believe God will recognize those who stood up for the teachings of Jesus and those who only gave lip service.

I still think Pat is a good man..He should know by now thought Christians can't say anything they want to say like the commies do..after all this country is being taken over by the ACLU and Soro's and nothing is being done about it..At least Pat has tried to do the things God taught us to do..

The Dobson story on the Alito letter came out yesterday and there is a pattern of negative stories about the Robertsons, Falwells, Dobsons etc. Either the AP is going after them like talk radio goes after Clintons, Kennedys and Byrds or someone else is and giving AP the tips on what those guys are saying on radio and TV to create negative publicity.
