ARTICLE SNIPPET: "(CNN) -- In a videotape released Saturday, Osama bin Laden's deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri, complimented the Islamic militant group Hamas on its Palestinian election victory and spoke against published Prophet Mohammed cartoons that have sparked violence throughout the Muslim world.
The tape was released by the Arabic-language satellite television channel Al-Jazeera.
CNN could not immediately authenticate the recording, and it was unclear when it was made.
Al-Zawahiri was the target of an unsuccessful January 13 CIA airstrike on a home in Damadola, Pakistan, where al Qaeda members were thought to be attending a dinner.
The Egyptian doctor has released numerous taped messages in recent months."
