Bill O'Reilly just defended David Gregory's drunken appearance on Imus radio show tonight on "The Factor". O'Reilly claimed Gregory was a "good guy", and "was probably just tired" so "I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt". Even guest Juan Williams was amazed, saying Gregory had ruined his credibility.

I saw that segment. I thought there was a bit of the, "I'm really an open-minded guy" on the part of O'Reilly. He plays that game a lot. And Gregory has proven to be an *sshole in the White House briefings, but just asking ........
"What's the big deal if Gregory was wasted? Was he on the job?"
Just asking.

O'Reilly will excuse anyone making unfortunate phone calls.

"David Gregory's drunken appearance" You mean ***apparent*** drunken appearance? Or, perhaps seemingly addled appearance? To assume and assert otherwise is what the MSM does.correctamundo

By issuing a statement they confirmed out suspicion that he was abusing some substance.
After all, he is travelling with the President, he is in a foreign country.....and clearly he was not in control of all his faculties.

Gregory has made an (even bigger) idiot of himself for everyone to see, and O'Reilly is just showing his audience that he's like a father figure who is not about to "pile on" over the antics of a silly child. Beating up Gregory right now is the easiest thing in the world. You're so right. O'Reilly likes to show his audience that he's a real fair, calm fellow................along with being a maniac at other times (not that mania is a bad thing at times).

The one thing I do like him, is that, on the right night and with a liberal guest, he can destroy them with ease. But thats more or less just being competant, he looks better because everyone else is just so bad.Right on. Eleanor Clift even looks ok up against the cast of "The Night of The Living Dead".

Although it wasn't "early morning" when Gregory called in. Sure, it was morning here in the U.S., but in India it was...um...(fumbling for a time zone map)...not early morning. New Delhi is GMT+5:30 and NYC is GMT-5:00, a difference of 10.5 hours.
So I guess he was calling in during happy hour.

NBC issued a statement this afternoon saying that David Gregory was not drunk. That Imus was joking, which is what Imus does! Imagine having to issue such a statement. LOL.....I love it!Gregory sounded more like he was stoned.
He mentioned something about a guy who thinks some of his thoughts are really funny. Marijuana does that to you. You write down all these "remarkable things" you think of while being stoned, then you look at the scribbles the next day, and if you're lucky one out of ten of those thoughts will be worthy of expanding upon.

Don't drink and don't smoke anything. Have enough trouble keeping my brain cells in order as it is!
Nor did I hear the segment on IPUS.....read the transcript and it was clear that Gregory could not organize his thoughts.

If I were to have to talk with Don Imus, I would want to be drunk, or crazy.
