The important question is what can the Bush Administration do to turn this around. They are, in many cases, controlled by events in Iraq.

However, the made up stories: like the Katrina tape, the "domestic wiretapping". I think they could do much more about that.

He needs to turn it around fast.

Completely agree... unfortunately, what has the most effect on his numbers is the Iraqi carnage shown on the daily news day after day, whether or not it is true.
Things like the port deal were just incompetence from some staff members...

No, HE is fighting a way. The republicans in congress, who are supposed to be guarding his back, instead are busy shoving a knife into it. That d*mn Snowe with her vicious little committee, all the other so called republicans, are running for cover instead of standing and fighting.
