03/02/06 FOX Poll: Most Oppose Port Deal; Republicans Lose Ground Thursday, March 02, 2006 By Dana Blanton PHOTOS
Most Americans oppose allowing a Dubai company to run some U.S. ports, even as a majority understands the U.S. would continue to control port security, according to a new FOX News poll. One in four sees the United Arab Emirates as a strong ally, but most either disagree or are unsure.
In addition, the poll shows Republicans have lost ground on the issue of terrorism, and by a wide margin voters now think it would be better for the country if Democrats win control of Congress in this years midterm election.
For only the second time of his presidency, the poll finds that President Bushs overall job approval rating has fallen below 40 percent today 39 percent of Americans say they approve and a 54 percent majority disapproves. Late last year the presidents approval hit a record-low of 36 percent (8-9 November 2005).

The plans if any are probably secret.
Look at the Map of the Strait of Hormuz, a blind man could make the connection.
The focus is on fighting terror overseas, and keeping us safe at home with extra vigilence at the ports. No, attacks for almost 4 years on the United States, and I think I know why.
And if our security at the ports can be compromised by the owners of the container handlers, then we are already screwed.
They are utterly dependent upon United States military resources for the survival of their monarchy.
If they weren't, then their country would have been a province of the IRI, or Saudi Arabia, or Saddam Hussein's Iraq, years ago.
Secondly, I highly doubt that this is part of some super-duper, top-secret plan to neutralize the threat posed by an Iran armed with WMDs.
Putting aside for a moment the fact that President Bush wasn't even aware of this until it was approved-which puts to rest the notion that there is some sub rosa plan involving Iran that we haven't been apprised of-eliminating the Iranian nuclear threat now would involve a sustained air campaign against not only the Bushehr nuclear reactor provided by our lovely Russian friends, along with the clandestine plants in Natanz and Arak Iran was forced to reveal because of photos smuggled out of the country by the National Council of Iranian Resistance, but also taking out numerous offensive and defensive sites.
Under the optimal scenario-where all of its nuclear fuel reprocessing facilities, missile launchers, and power plants were eliminated with minimal casualties to our side-a hostile Iranian theocracy would still exist, right next to its neighbor the UAE.
Why would the UAE take such a risk, if it knew in advance that they would still have to deal with the current Iranian government?
Gee, Counselor Tolerance -- are you referring to that other than the worldwide "evidence" that wherever Muslims dwell there is eventually blood, murder, and mayhem at hand?
If you don't mind, I'd rather non-Muslims have NOTHING to do with American seaports, airports, and ammunition factories.
"If you don't mind, I'd rather non-Muslims have NOTHING to do with American seaports, airports, and ammunition factories."
I do mind, actually. And apparently so do the people in charge.
But I understand your feelings, even if I don't share them.
That good, huh?
LV is fantastic - its the best move I ever made. NYC is a dump!
Do you agree that the ladies there are the better than just about anywhere? Unreal IMO
