I wonder if Quebec will envoke the notwithstanding clause to bypass this ruling. They've done it before.

Although, I should add, it's true, Sikhs do NOT like Muslims one bit, not one bit at all, so we're gonna need their help down the road.

" To those who aren't familiar with Sikh customs, the kirpan may be very small, perhaps two inches long."

But more commonly, 7-12 inches long.

The Legislature of the state of California and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals doesn't recognize the RKBA. In fact, they both have stated that the Constitution does not recognize that the 2nd is an individual right. They have usurped the rights of 20 million American citizens by fiat.

This isn't the Third World. (Well, maybe Canada is.) I just find it amazing that the current wave of immigrants demands that their new country bow to every demand in the name of tolerance.

In WWII Sikh soldiers charged the beaches in their turbans, sans helmets.

If they were good enough for His Majesty's Army they're good enough for me.

The kirpan is a totally benign item when carried ceremonially. There are no records I know of where they being used in anger or urban violence. Sikhs have too much reverence for them as a ceremonial symbol.

Sikhs are proud citizens of our Commonwealth. This is so far from a Muslim style concession it is beyond words.

Personally, and speaking only for myself, I applaud this ruling. This community has and is making a great contribution to Canada. While I don't like making concessions to ethnic groups this is one I'm willing to salute.

Cheers, Eh!

Funny you should mention that. MY religious belief requires a 1911 or variant (IE:detonics, kimber, etc) to be concealed under my clothing ,even crossing state lines...

If you want a gooooood dose of tolerance for your beliefs, just tell any liberal that you are a gun owner and that you believe in self defense. Owning an SUV always receives a good dose of tolerance too!
