Like a completely refurbished pre-owned vehicle, Al Gore seems to be positioning himself to Hillary Clintons left and as greener than John Kerry for a run at the 2008 Democratic nomination for president. His slogan might well read reelect Al Gore.
The former vice presidents slashing attacks on the administration and his stalwart, if misguided, opposition to the Iraq war leave him without the complications and complexes that will devil Clinton as she seeks to appeal to the unforgiving left of the Democratic Party.
And Gore may be a man whose time has come in his party. It was he who warned of climate change and predicted its consequences. Hurricane Katrina was just a fulfillment of the prophesies Gore wrote about in his late-1980s book Earth in the Balance. He has been an energy-conservation nut for years, and his obsessions with alternatives to oil will play better and better as we come to realize how our addiction to oil has led us to dependency on the dealers of this particular drug Iran, the Saudi royal family and Hugo Chavez.
-snip-
But Gore has three things going for him: A perception that he was robbed of the White House and Hillarys possible stubbornness in continuing to back the war.
The third thing? The weather. As the evidence of global climate change impresses everyone who doesnt work at the White House, Gore looks more and more like a man whose time may have come.

Any bets on how his suicide note will read if he looks like real competition to Hitlery?
I hope he brings back that woman who taught him to dress like an alpha male. I miss the dark eye makeup.
I heard the Saudis paid for the trip; there was a thread about it and even how much they paid him.
No one in the MSM thought it was worth noting that Gore took money from the country where several of the 9/11 hijackers came from and then turned around and attacked his own country.
'no doubt'? Care to wager?
Wasn't Dick Morris out with a book 6 months ago saying Hillary was the unbeatable Democratic candidate? Now it's Al Gore who's unbeatable and Hillary is toast? Glad I didn't waste money on that book.
Amazes me how Gore gets away with not being tried for treason....
OK, Janice!
Get those buckets and robes ready!
We aint through with'em yet!
Al Gore is nothing but a more bitter, hateful and angry version of Howard Dean.
Hillary w/ Algore running as VP...
LMAO!!!
Morning, Peach! (well, it was morning, when I started this reply)
As much as I hate to disagree with you (cause I don't think I ever have), I must. In the Democratic party, comments like Gore's in S.A. enhanced his chances, just like his losing the G.A. did, in 2000.
As the Maha Rushie has said, failure in the Democratic Party is a cause for promotion, not demotion. I would add that failure in the Donkey party is reciprocal - their failures are promoted to positions where they can fail all the more spectacularly. It's "The Peter Principle" with a twist: the level of their incompetence is level one.
Now, of course, I know what you mean: even if he were to get the nomination(which is as big an "if" as he is...big, that is), there's no way in bloody hell that he'd win the G.A. Or is there? After all, this guy was elected as a senator, he was the VP for eight forgettable years, and came damn close to stealing the G.A. in 2000. Who knows what could happen?
So I guess my "disagreement" with you was just in jest. Keep up the great work!
"If you allow someone like Saddam Hussein to get nuclear weapons, ballistic missiles, chemical weapons, biological weapons, how many people is he going to kill with such weapons?
He's already demonstrated a willingness to use these weapons. He poison-gassed his own people.
He used poison gas and other weapons of mass destruction against his neighbors. This man has no compunction about killing lots and lots of people...."

Good afternoon, Christian. Actually, I hope he IS the nominee. It would be great fun and a sure win for the GOP.
True dat.
Is Dick Morris actually saying this nutbar is electable? If so, I will add that one into the pile of bad Dick Morris predictions. Maybe in 2000 when Algore still had the people fooled he could have pulled this off. However its years later and he's left a bunch of wild eyed rants and hate-America speeches on tape.
I still have mine! (Along with the pictures to prove it) I'm ready! LOL
Dick Morris?? the toe queen must know something about the new chads on Florida voter cards.
of all the things she's nicknamed by our side, I have to say that is one of the best - if not THE best, Bay!
I plan to use it with your permission, sir.
Do you think Wee Dick is gellin' ?
