Let Scalia or Thomas fall asleep on the job and see if the reporting resembles this. The alphabet channels would be reporting this for two or three weeks 24/7 "at least", if this had happened to a conservative justice.

Sure.
Look at what they did VP Quayle for his spelling error. If any conservative did this, the late night jokes/media madness would make Cheney's shooting incident look trivial. (Which it was.)
