Rather than welcoming those talks, though, Mr. Kurti wants them stopped -- and he seems to have a large following. He doesn't want an internationally negotiated road map to independence, he wants a mass popular uprising -- bloody if necessary -- that will instantly free Kosovo not just from Serbia but from the UN's clutches.
Dressed fashionably and surrounded by rapt followers, Mr. Kurti calmly denounced the United Nations Mission In Kosovo.
"UNMIK made sense for the first two years, the postwar recovery stage, but when it came to the development stage, they failed us," he says. "And now UNMIK's role here is as a neo-colonial institution. They are preventing us from becoming a nation, from developing."

Albanians want a war, its just that simple. Albanian impatience begins to rear it's ugly head.

They see for the first time since WWII, a chance for "Greater Albania" and a very large Mafia state. It will be like dominoes's in the Balkans, unstable just as Holbrooke stated in 1998. This will all happen while the world is looking toward the Middle East......

Albin Kurti also known as "Albanian Che Guevarra"/ And more Maoism as foundation of KLA discovered: http://www.unhcr.ch/cgi-bin/texis/vtx/home/opendoc.htm?tbl=RSDCOI&page=research&id=3ae6a6cf0 LPK (Lëvizja Popullore e Kosovës) - People's Movement Of Kosovo The LPK may now be of mainly historical interest, but its legacy still affects politics in Kosovo today, for the UÇK grew out of it. The LPK was always an underground movement in Kosovo but an open dissident movement in Switzerland where many of its activists lived in exile. Formed in 1982 out of splinter communist movements such as the LPRK (Popular Movement of the Republic of Kosovo), the LPK originally enjoyed the support of Enver Hoxha's communist government in Albania. Its goal was the liberation of Kosovo from control by Belgrade, and the promotion of greater Albania. The movement shed Marxist roots after the fall of communism in Tirana, but maintained its air of secrecy, underground cells, and sense of radicalism. After Miloševic rose to power and began his crackdown in Kosovo, the LPK drew closer to Prishtinë/Priština University's student protesters, including the young Hashim Thaçi. The decision was made to prepare for an armed struggle in the early 1990s, and Thaçi went to Drenica to agitate, then fled Serb security forces for Switzerland. Many top-ranking UÇK and LBD members have roots in the LPK, including Ramë Buja, Hydajet Hyseni, Bardhyl Mahmuti, Pleurat Sejdiu and Emrush Xhemajli. Many of those who went from LPK to UÇK are now in the new PBD - to this extent the PBD can be regarded as the post-war successor of the LPK. Though the LPK never formally disbanded there is little sign of it publicly now.

They are preventing us from becoming a nation, from developing." Becoming a nation? Different than Albania? BTW, once they secure Kosovo, destroy ancient churches and monasteries and expel all Serbs this land will lose any value for them. They will abandon it and migrate to the wealthier countries of the West
Kosovo seems so valuable and attractive to Albanians ONLY because it is so precious to Serbs. Without Serbian heritage it is a poor and desolate place to live in, not any better than some God forsaken corner of Albania proper from which they came.
So who knows, maybe Serbs should wait until all KLA freeloaders go to the greener pastures, and then Serbs will be able to restore their holy places?

Kosumi resigns | 13:25 -> 16:54 March 01 | FoNet
PRISTINA -- Wednesday Kosovo Prime Minister Bajram Kosumi has handed in his resignation, stating that if he continues to head the Government, the ruling coalition will lose its parliamentary majority.
He said that he has made the Kosovo Government officials aware of his decision, according to the Associated Press.
Kosovo Protection Corps Commander, Agim Cheku, has been nomination to become Kosovos new prime minister.
According to a Pristina daily, Cheku, a member of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, is set to replace Prime Minister Bajram Kosumi.
"The reasons for the change at the head of the Government lies in the fact that the programs of implementing international standards have not been conceived in time, but also the lack of loyalty shown by Kosumi and several ministers from his party." daily Ekspres writes.
Ekspres has close ties to Hashim Thachis Kosovo Democratic Party, which is part of the opposition.
During an interview with Radio Television Kosovo yesterday, Kosumi was asked whether he will remain Prime Minister during the status discussion process.
"I do not know what will happen tomorrow." Kosumi said.
Interview by the same station several days ago, Cheku said that he is prepared to accept the position of prime minister for the good of the people of Kosovo.
Cheku has close ties with former prime minister Ramus Haradinaj, who nominated Kosumi for the position after being indicted for alleged war crimes by the Hague Tribunal.
Interesting history you are giving....a few more is the LKCK - hardliners that are there. Also, the FARK was born from a disagreement between LDK and LKCK split. The LKCK was the foundation for collecting money in Europe early on. Signficant group.......complicated history.
