too funny but unfortunately true here.. when last in kitchen this evening I "klutzed" into a table & broke several mugs, glasses & dishes. Bull in a china shop? and after all the ballet? just think of the disaster had I been a soccer player instead of a ballerina!!!
too funny! I started taking a bath (or planning to) 12 hours ago.. BUT,.... but.....well, still have the mud on me from my dog hike at 11 AM... sigh.
night all... thanks for being part of the housework avoidus chat... If Dutchess isn't with us in AM, when I arise, will continue...
Bath & grey goose time!!!!

Read It Aloud

We are blessed with many wonderful translations of the Bible these days, so it's hard for us to realize that for more than 350 years one version was used by much of the English-speaking world. Today some people recoil at the King James' "thees," "thous," and "verilys." Yet there is something beautiful about hearing it read aloud, especially familiar passages like the 23rd Psalm.
In God's Secretaries, author Adam Nicolson chronicles the King James translators' sensitivity to sound. He says that the 12 men sat around the room listening to the text being read aloud. They felt that what governed the acceptability of a particular verse was not only accuracy to the original language, but a pleasant sound of the words.
Paul understood the power of the spoken Word. To the young pastor Timothy he instructed public Bible reading: "Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine" (1 Timothy 4:13).
The Word of God stirs the heart when it enters the believer's ear. So whatever version you're reading in your quiet time, in family devotions, or in a church service, remember the power of the spoken Word. Look for opportunities to read it aloud. Dennis Fisher

I am not sure who is posting this weekend(If it is me, I have not been notified yet!( lol )

I'm really not reading any books right now.
I/we read the Bible consistantly at Church and Men's Bible study.
I have the King James version, I like the way it reads with the old words.
I read political articles everyday same as Religous type articles everyday.
I get many in emails daily.
a good portion of my reading is on the computer. I have LS's & Jeff Heads books to read online.. BUT, it does take it's toll on the eyes. Yesterday after tooooo many hours on, they were just aching (and still are).. will not be on as much today. I have a thread I am going to try to punch out for tomorrow.. but that can wait until tonight.
I think we get used to versions of the Bible based on what we grew up with. Much like Music etc.
Yes my eyes feel it. I have been doing so much on the computer with all my web pages..
I didn't grow up with a Bible, the one I have was given to me by a friend 25 years ago.
King James version with giant print. Easy to read with Christs words in red.
maybe later
Dutchess is without power at home & from work let us know she will try hard to get it going after 1 when she gets home...
Gotta love the Ohio Weather (NOT) - so for now you can continue to visit & exchange info here..

Beautiful table and flower post, Meg.
Thank you for bringing us spring every day.
I have never heard of Trollius. The leaf is very similiar to the ranunculus. Guess it is time for me to grab the garden book again. :)
It looks like ranunculus to me..
Me, too, was the first thing that came to mind.
I have so much fun looking for flowers..you are welcome!
Good morning ,HUG!
