The parent company of a Dubai-based firm at the center of a political storm in the US over the purchase of American ports participates in the Arab boycott against Israel, The Jerusalem Post has learned.
The firm, Dubai Ports World, is seeking control over six major US ports, including those in New York, Miami, Philadelphia and Baltimore. It is entirely owned by the Government of Dubai via a holding company called the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCZC), which consists of the Dubai Port Authority, the Dubai Customs Department and the Jebel Ali Free Zone Area.

The parent company is the government of one of the emirates of the U.A.E. Its not a private concern...well, not exactly if you know what I mean.
How many times is this going to be posted?
See the Port Deal Hysterics are still pushing the lie. They will NOT take control of port facitilites. They will owe the company that leases 9 Terminals out of 300 in 6 ports. Local US Govt Port Authories run the ports. US Govt Agenices at the Local, State and Federal Levels runs the Security Operations.
The level of fundemental ignorance the Port Deal Critics display is simply inexcusable give the wealth of information provided them here on Freeper for the last 2 weeks.
UAE has a few catholic churches, but no synagogues. UAE should drop this.

While the UAE shows nothing but hatred and contempt for our best ally in the ME, Israel, we are told by Washington that the UAE are our "good friends" and "allies in the wot". 'Friends' my arse.
I'm pointing to the Anti Arab Israel Boycott Laws
Without the help of the Arab world we will never win the WOT, how does it help Israel for us to possibly lose this cooperation and Intel.
Frank Gaffney wrote yesterday to the effect that (my words) this whole thing must be rescrutinized by everyone and that it is on the rails for just that.(ie. unoffocial at present but inevitable)
Just too much of all these things never really were "sent up the line" by lower level grunts,so everyone is going to review it to death. A "little thing" like an Isreali boycott would be sufficient to kill the deal in it's tracks.
This whole thing has just too much Richter Scale intensity to be swept aside.....And besides you can make book that this is really only the tip of this iceberg.
Is there really any private enterprise in the UAE? Their government isn't a democracy, it consists of a few Sheiks and their Royal Family, who rule over the peons.
you are right of course, but the anti-Isreal stuff makes me quesy about our alliance.
obviously that has already been looked at, the Arab League boycott of Israel isn't a secret, I'm sure they have made concessions
It begins to look like Bush doesn't his arse from 2nd base. He's been looking more and more confused.
I found one post but it was embedded behind a Baldwin opinion piece.
Never thought I'd hear conservatives talking like this. It sounds rather .. French. We are doomed to surrender to the Arab muslim terrorists if we can't find other Arab muslims to 'help' us?
btw, it's still legal to say 'muslim' or 'islamic', so you don't have to use code words like "Arab" all the time. Millions of Arabs are Christian, but it is not those Arabs we seek to 'help' us fight terrorism, it is the islamic governments you talk about, so just say 'muslims', nobody will bite you, (though you might be called a 'racist').
If you're going to proclaim someone else's ignorance, it might be a good idea to at least compose the proclamation correctly.
Of course, an even better idea would be to abstain from hurling childish, liberal-style attacks just because someone disagrees with you.
MM
Well, are you calling for the invasion of every "Arab" country? Or would you rather them help us capture the terrorists in their mists?
I don't think it is obvious or it would have been used as a point to sell the deal.
