Israeli Police Brutality in Amona
Israel National News ^ | Unknown | Unknown

It breaks my heart to post this link, but the brutality shown by Israel's police in evacuating Jewish citizens from 5 unauthorized houses in the West Bank is horrific.

The film is here: http://www.rafflebuilder.com/Arutz7/

There is a widespread belief in Israel that the Acting Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, personally ordered the brutality used by the police in this action. Currently, the Knesset (Israel's parliament)is investigating the government's handling of this evacuation. This investigation is being fought every step of the way by Ehud Olmert and his interim government. Today, the head of the police and the head of the military both said that they would defy the knesset committee and forbid police and army representatives from appearing before the committee.

If Olmert's Kadima party heads the next government after the March 28 vote, many are afraid that the brutality seen on the video will be replicated over and over again.

That's a bit of melodrama, I think. Both officials restricted their subordinates in order to testify personally , from what I understand.

See this Jerusalem Post article, entitled, "DM bars IDF officers from Amona probe": http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1139395505412&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull

I don't think it's melodrama at all.

I've been listening to Israel National Radio all day, and they are just as worked up about the abuses as anyone, but they did report Mofaz and the "other one" exercised their prerogative to testify personally. Is there anything in the jpost article that contradicts that?

I *do* consider it duplicitous to omit the fact they're willing to go personally.

"The committee is political and if they have any problems they should deal with politicians and not put the burden on the back of the policemen," said Ezra.

I don't think it's melodrama at all.

How *would* you describe it?

Police beating teenaged children sitting in protest with night clubs.

That is how I would describe it.

Thanks, hyperbole is always helpful... particularly when it draws attention from the point in question.

That is funny, the thread is about the police beating children, I thought you were reaching pretty hard to find a way to divert the point yourself.

To answer your rabbit trail, it is pretty obvious when you have 6000 police barred from testamony by the ones responsible for the action so that only they can testify that it is an attempt to cover their asses. What, only *superior* officers have eyes? Only they have opinions worth listening to?

This was a violent action that was arguably worse than what the Nazi's did to herd the Jews into the Warsaw Ghetto. This against prostestors that showed previously that they were non violent. And the video shows police charging protestors with horses that are not being violent, beating sitting teenaged girls with clubs.

But all you want to talk about is who may testify?

It is not hyperbole, if you can watch exactly what I described in the video. It is you trying to ignore the truth and call me a liar for what you refuse to see with your own eyes. What are you afraid of? Unless you are one of these criminals in uniform, you have nothing to fear but your own government.

I would say the videos should put quite a few men in prison, Starting with the two men who flaunt their power by stating that nobody should testify but them.

Did you see ANY protesters hitting police? I think Omert does not like being a Prime Minister, he wants to be a King instead.

Sorry, I thought you had seen the video, I did not realize the link was broken. Now you can see the video, and you will understand why I was upset with your perceived misdirection.

You really should see this.
I could not believe what I saw in that video. I can not understand how Jews could do this to other Jews.

Sorry, I just see no virtue in "non-violence" when it is coupled with non-compliance. If the point is that crucial, protesters *should* be violent.

If Mofaz and Ezra have the authority to prevent a "post-Katrina" review, I certainly won't find fault in them exercising it.

Might they be viscous bastards? Sure. But I'm not about to fall for the "if you've got nothing to hide..." gambit.

As for interaction between you and I, did you not use an incongruous answer to my question to draw attention back to the "beating?"

If you read my original quote I think you may see why I percieved misdirection, also.

Omert is a clear and present danger to Israel. He is like our Clinton. I hope get gets booted out of power one way or another.

11 March 1945
26 Adar 5705

Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn (1880-1950):

Jews! Men and women!

In the Land of Israel, Jewish children are slowly being destroyed.

Anti-religious people among the group of leaders who are responsible for the orphaned refugee children in Israel, have created a "Shmad corner" for the children who have been entrusted to their care.

In the places in Europe conquered by Hitler, Yemach Shmo, he set up extermination camps to torture and burn Jewish bodies; in Israel, a certain group has set up extermination camps to torture and destroy Jewish souls.

The "Shmad corner" which is actively prosletyzing the Jewish refugee children, is educating the children by Hamans who are dedicated to the same path and education as the men of the Yevsektsia, the evil ones.

The "Hamans" teach the children to violate Shabbos, to eat Treif, to eat on Yom Kippur, to eat Chametz on Pesach. They don't even allow the children to say Kaddish for their martyred parents who were killed Al Kiddush Hashem. They teach the children to ridicule G-d and Yiddishkeit.

The orphans who are being educated by the 'Hamans' [will grow up to] tear up Sifrei Torah, burn down Batei Knesiyot [synagogues], destroy Jewish cemeteries, lead pogroms, stab, burn and shoot at Jewish bodies. They will rob and loot Jewish property...
