The link will take you to a story where a nitwit Chicago Alderman wants to name a street after the a Black Panther thug named Fred Hampton who was killed in the 70s.
I know some old time Chgo. Cops who said they heard this guy say that blacks should kill white people and cops at rallies. This man was a thug working for the Black Panthers who were drug pushers, pimps and murderers.
A street should be named after a person the public can look up to as an example, not a criminal who advocated murder.
I want to stop this from happening. But, I cannot find any transcripts of REAL speeches. All I can find on the internet are cleaned up, rosey remembrances of what a great fellow he was.
Can anyone find me some quotes of his where he was advocating violence?

if you have to bring this to their attention, it ain't worth it...
This might be an uphill battle for you. "Fred Hampton Circle" really has a nice ring ...
I heard a short clip on FNC earlier about it, I think they said it was shot down.
I wanna live at 211 West Mookie drive.
Sweet, maybe they can change main street to Al Capone Blvd or John Dillinger Road or Jack the Ripper Turnpike.
In the Hitler Hill section of town of course.
Here's a nice compromise: name the street after Black Panther, Chicago 7 has-been Bobby Seale, only be a little bit subtle and call it "GAGME" Street. That way, those of us who are repulsed by the idea could be happy, too.
Bagheera? (hint: Kipling)
Agree with post #4 - Fox carried something about this - the woman who proposed renaming the street finally came out and said that if it was going to upset the police, she would drop the proposal - no explanation as to why she was so insensitive and obtuse as to propose it to begin with.......
Was Bobby Rush behind this???
It wouldn't surprise me one bit.
WE WANT freedom for all black men held in federal, state, county and city prisons and jails.
WE BELIEVE that all black people should be released from the many jails and prisons because they have not received a fair and impartial trial.
Well then you'll be jealous to know that I live on Osama bin Laden Boulevard (nice neighborhood, but no Jooooooz). Not much difference, IMO, between naming a road after an al Qaeda guy or a Black Panther.
The news stories from this morning had favorable quotes from, of course, Bobby Rush, and a negative one from Alderman Bernie Stone.
This effort won't make it to the floor for a vote, according to the news I just heard on the radio.
These DemocRat politicos constantly bleat about the need for "freedom" while they tout Commie tyrants like Castro and Marxist thugs like the Black Panthers. Due to their abysmal ignorance, it would be futile to tell them that Communism was the most murderous and anti-freedom idealogy of the 20th century, because they would then start yapping about "genocide against the red man and slavery."
Just once I would like to see a Rat Pol commemorate a black hero who wasn't a Commie or a COM symp. I just got thru watching a documentary about the all black 761st tank battalion of WWII. How about MOH awardee "SSG Reuben Rivers Way"?
Maybe we oughta tell 'em that the reason "Chairman Huey" is taking a dirt nap is because he got zapped while shaking down drug dealers in Oakland.
A politician's proposal to erect a street sign in tribute to a Black Panther killed in a 1969 police raid has angered members of the police force and injected controversy into Chicago's usually rubber-stamp way of honoring people. But anger recently erupted after Alderwoman Madeline Haithcock, who is black, proposed a sign honoring Fred Hampton, who was state chairman of the Black Panther Party. He was killed with another Black Panther when Chicago police raided Hampton's apartment in search of guns.
"It's a disgrace that someone be honored who promoted violence against police officers," said Mark Donahue, president of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Rep. Bobby Rush, a former Black Panther and friend of Hampton's, defended the idea, saying that as a result of Hampton's effort to bring attention to police brutality in Chicago, "the police department is a better police department."
