Group displays Christians killed in Muslim nations

WARSAW: A Christian group in the Polish city of Poznan has put up posters in the city’s trams of modern “martyrs” who have died at the hands of Muslims or in Muslim nations, its head said Monday.

“We did this in the spirit of Christian solidarity with those who suffer for their faith,” said Boguslaw Kiernicki, head of the St Benedict Foundation which was created six months ago.

“Christians in Poland are in a comfortable situation, but there are others in other countries who are not,” he said. A grouping representing Poland’s tiny Muslim population, which represents some 30,000 people out of the country’s population of 38 million, called the poster exhibition a “provocation”.

It also said it was ill-timed, as anger in the Muslim world runs high after publication in European newspapers of cartoons of Islam’s Prophet Mohammed. Some 300 posters are on display in Poznan’s trams, showing Christians who have died in Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey and Indonesia, among other countries.

The captions on the posters describe their “road to Calvary” and call on Poland’s predominantly Roman Catholic faithful to pray for “these modern martyrs”. afp

Muslims called the poster exhibition a “provocation”.

No comment on the deaths, I assume.

"anger in the Muslim world runs high"

When didn't it? At least as far as dealing with non-Muslims.

I'm tired of it. So, I think, are most here.

Voice of the Martyrs, an inter-denominational Christian organization, has compiled and reported the persecutions of Christians around the world for quite a while. You can see the list of prisoners by country, etc., at www.persecution.com

Poland has guts. The main reason I think this is because they have not lost their faith to whatever nonsense is prevalent in pop culture at this moment. As far as the 30,000 muslims in Poland now, Poland can expel them to some east coast liberal American city and get rid of this problem here and now. Poland, do it and do it quickly.

Let's see... 300 dead human beings vs. some ink on paper. Gee, I can see those are morally equivalent. </sarcasm>

Moslems in general seem incapable of living in a civilized environment or even conceiving that maybe, just maybe, what they are doing is going to bring such a backlash against their religion that will make the Crusades look like picnics.  I seriously doubt Islam will survive the 21st century -- at least in its present form.  The bloodbath to come however, will dwarf anything propagated during the 20th century.  Our great-great-grandchildren will look on Islam in the same way modern Indians view the Thugee -- as brutal, but thankfully extinct.

Muslims are ALWAYS angry about something. They need to get over it. Muslims hung the bodies of American contractors from the bridge and the power lines for the whole world to see. THAT made Americans very angry too, but we didn't riot and burn down the White House. LOL

Will there be 'outrage' in the Western world, specially among Christians ? ... don't think so.
There should be, at least wide spread discussion and circulation of them.

However I believe these 'posters' should receive wide coverage, but that's also doubtful on the antique MSM.

Personally, I would like to see them.

Why doies the media even give any space to what these fringe whack jobs have to say? These attampts at 'balance' are causing mulimes to appear more important than they are. Would christian groups of comparable size be given as much face time in coverage in muzlim countries?

When confronted with a record of their deeds, their atrocities, they respond by saying its a "Provocation".

It's as sick as a serial killer saying " The faces of the dead made me kill again"

I for one, am not and will not tip-toe around these psychotic land mines hoping they wont go off any longer. I've frankly become as detatched about their survival as I would about a rabid dog. You don't wait for him to bite, you put him down........It's time islam was "put-down"
