I hope to tour the WH when we visit DC, and was told by my congress-critter's office that I can take nothing...nada...zip...zero, into the WH with me. No cell, no purse, zilch.
(sigh) not sure I will handle that well.

I read that on the White House Website that you cannot take anything and that there is no facility for you to leave anything to collect afterwards so if you did have something you would be turned away.
Must be awkward for day visitors I suppose you would have to rent a locker or something at a train station to put your stuff before you went there.

I'm wondering if the people who attend services at St. John's when the President is there have to go through a Secret Service check first. I would sure hope so.
