Hi armymarinemom! I know this is Sean's thread, but if your son at all likes Rush, you know your son is eligible to get the FREE Rush 24 X 7 access to the show for the full 3 hours and 12 months of the newsletter. Rush solicited a fund around Christmas and if you fill in his information for him, they'll make your son a member gratis. Thank him for his service. If he doesn't like Rush, please ignore the post. The website is http://www.rushlimbaugh.com and the link is in the upper right corner.

The poster was suggesting that Sean and Rush be on the same show.

What is wrong with that, puffboy?

It has consistently been described, by both sides, as operating the ports. Non-issue...fact is that it is a very "advantageous" situation to accumulate intelligence. If it isn't, prove it to me. I won't give blind allegiance to anyone.

And while I love you, my friend, let's not pretend that all the facts were known last week by Tony, or anyone else. I am receiving EXACTLY the same talking points from the White House and the RNC, and there are badly lacking. I don't know why all the hostility toward Sean, and I don't like it. But this deal will go through, it will be much stronger in terms of security, and it will occur because questions were raised about a country that a short while ago did grave harm to our country. The early defenders of this deal had no more or less facts than the rest of us, and they still don't. And any confusion or imprecision is due to the secretiveness of the process. You can question this without being disloyal to the president. I resent efforts to demonize Sean, who has supported this administration 99% of the time, and worked hard in 4 states to re-elect the president.

I'm with you on this one. I get tired of seeing some bash our own. We can disagree while maintaining our focus!

The British cgov. has no control over the sale.

If the U.S. Senate can create a law that prevents the acceptance of this sale, do you honestly believe that the British Government has no power to do the same?

Their government is much more controlling on business than we are, because they do not have a Constitution or a Bill of Rights to protect individual freedoms. We do.

The Parliament in Britain could stop this deal in a second. They will not, because they are adults who are acting like adults.

I am hoping Sean is trying to be smooth and move the subject off the ports to matters that will unite Conservatives. MAybe? I mean all this time on the "Black State of the Union" I never even heard of that before. Hopefully there is a method to his madness

I switched over to the Jerry Doyle Show after a few minutes today. Sean presents a very good negative side of the ports deal but does not present a balance.

Wrong. Because the president's staff has not served him well. And if you don't like Sean, and use Weiner Nation's label to characterize him, you've exposed yourself as the idiot Sean said you are. You are an idiot.

The Senate is probably a lost cause for this year...because of the elections...

BTW...I haven't heard on Fox News or anywhere, except Rush's show...what Louis Farrakhan said...and how no black CONSERVATIVE was invited to the "State of Black America" symposium last week...

Now..considering how ofter Robertson gets blasted for his outrageous statements...I would think that Farrakhan should be getting equal treatment.

Well said.

Obviously not all conservatives agree on this particular issue, but hopefully in general we're all on the same side and IMHO should stick up for each other - not for erroneous positions, mind you, but for the person.

It's interesting that Rush and Tony Snow are supportive of this port deal while Sean and Levin are against it. Both sides have their reasons, but in general they're all on the same side of conservatism.

It really bugs me on FR when FReepers start attacking a conservative talk show host personally when they take a position they don't agree with.

Sean was right when he said that many FReepers eat their own.

You paint with too broad a brush. I and some others have no desire to see Congress do any such thing, but it's job. We believe in separation of powers, so Congress must not approve or disapprove such deals. But regulating our ports, under Art I., is clearly a congressional power. Congress blew it when it conferred that power on a committee of bureaucrats. Post 9/11, this cannot be tolerated. But more information is useful. 64% of the people oppose this deal. Facts are facts.

"Unless you want the White House to break the law"

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. I see no indication that the WH was or will be involved in any review. Now if the WH arbitrarily said that x, x and x would conduct a review, that would be a problem. Having the review using first string players makes sense and i congress doesn't like that they can try to create legislation they believe will meet their needs.

never got this anti Grahmn feeling and why it happened.

I think the real anger against Lindsay came when he joined the Gang of 14 on the filibuster which basically torpedoed the Constitutional (or nuclear) option that we were fixing to pull on Janice Rorgers Brown. But it did avoid the violation of the Senate tradition. That, and he went along with McCain on the "torture" deal and has been a little squirrelly on the Terrorist Surveillance Act. His association with McCain is the real problem, but of course, Lindsay was with McCain in 2000, so it's not totally surprising. I'd say on 80% of the issues, and almost 100% of the judicial nominations, Lindsay has been OK.
