PRESIDENT BUSH called it a "moment of choosing" for Iraqis. But the past few days of sectarian violence may soon force a moment of choosing for the United States.
Even before the bombing of the sacred Golden Mosque in Samarra touched off the latest cycle of deadly retribution between the Shiites and the Sunnis, analysts had already been debating whether Iraq was on the edge of a civil war or in the middle of one. The utter ruthlessness of the attacks and counterattacks in the past few days is only going to complicate the U.S.-backed effort to form a permanent democratic government in Iraq.
Once again, the United States was put in an untenable predicament in the aftermath of its 2003 invasion, which succeeded in toppling the already severely weakened regime of Saddam Hussein, while leaving the destabilized nation in a state of chaos with more than 100,000 U.S. troops left to fight the insurgents and to try to restore order.
For the Bush administration, the mosque bombing brought a new wave of awkwardness, with some of the Shiites blaming U.S. forces for failing to protect the sacred site and opponents of the U.S. presence seizing the opportunity to agitate for an immediate withdrawal.
Bush and his foreign policy team called for calm, though no one was under any illusion that words from the U.S. government held any sway with any of the combatants. Meanwhile, the largest Sunni Arab bloc in parliament pulled out of talks with the Shiite coalition -- yet another ominous sign that the bombing had obliterated many months of progress toward forming a new government.

The US has an ace in the hole. In case of sectarian war, we get to decide who wins and on what terms.
Projection...
The Liberal media projects their conclusions prematurely upon the situation in Iraq, with the hope that they'll ruin it for everybody who wants freedom and democracy in that country.
(Muslim fundamentalists execute the openly homosexual. Emphasis on the "openly". You'd think the gay community would be all for liberating the Middle East from the homophobic Muslim fanatics.)
Why doesn't Allah protect his precious sacred sites?
In any case, this is certainly not an unforeseen occurrence!
SFC day late dollar short.
Sunnis and Sadr's Shiites make peace
"Four sheikhs from the Sadr movement made a "pact of honour" with the conservative Sunni Muslim Scholars Association, and called for an end to attacks on places of worship, the shedding of blood and condemning any act leading to sedition."

Muzzi's peeing on Liberal parade?
I'm sure it has been for some time. The left lost the moral highground quite a while back. They lost their mojo not long afterwards. Now, they're just a confederacy of cynical losers . Are they cheering for terror, or do they envy the terrorists?
My cat likes to pee on the San Francisco Chronicle.
Well, it's obviously only a matter of time until the Iraq civil war starts, since as I've learned today on FR, Islam is an inherently violent religion. Time to give up on Iraq, I guess.

Iraqi Sunni Bloc to Rejoin Talks on Government ~~ NY Times reporting....
HA HA HA!
See above...
One can only wonder what must be going through Blathers mind through all this. All those efforts, along with his cohorts, to bring down this president. The Iraqi may actually compromise and install a nationalized balanced government in a week or so, and no civil wars are going to take place. As I quoted about a year back, the L/MSM must only have mouth falls of dust from what used to be teeth at this point. It doubly applies now.
I like to pee on the San Francisco Chronicle
In Australia, the multi-cultural broadcaster SBS, has been salivating for civil war in Iraq EVERY NIGHT since the beginning of the war. That's all we ever hear the moment the word Iraq is mentioned.
CIVIL WAR CIVIL WAR CIVIL WAR BLAH BLAH BLAH!
It's become so obvious that even the newsreaders are beginning to look embarrassed!
All zmans reasons for staying are now gone. He may just try to sneak out to set up a safer shop elsewhere soon.
For whatever reason HE had. It appears he allowed zman to be born with snake genes. And rather large poison glands. If he escapes to your land, the renown deadly brown snake better watch it's six.
