Sen. John McCain said Sunday that the reaction to a Dubai-based company's proposed takeover of several U.S. shipping terminals has reached the point of "near-hysteria," singling out Sen. Hillary Clinton for criticism.
"The near-hysteria about this is not warranted, particularly in light of the other major crisis that we're facing throughout the world," McCain told ABC's "This Week."
The Arizona Republican criticized Mrs. Clinton for urging that all foreign opereation of U.S. ports be banned, warning that if she gets her way, "We've got a lot of disinvestment to do."

Without seeing the context of the question-answer, I don't see where McCain even utters her name. Were they showing clips or quotes of her and letting him respond?

Sen. John McCain said Sunday that the reaction to a Dubai-based company's proposed takeover of several U.S. shipping terminals has reached the point of "near-hysteria," singling out Sen. Hillary Clinton for criticism.
"The near-hysteria about this is not warranted, particularly in light of the other major crises that we're facing throughout the world," McCain told ABC's "This Week."
The Arizona Republican criticized Mrs. Clinton for urging that all foreign operation of U.S. ports be banned, warning that if she gets her way, "We've got a lot of disinvestment to do."
"Does that mean the British are not allowed?" McCain posited, before reminding that convicted al Qaeda shoe bomber Richard Reid "was British, as you know."
"I think obviously this has to be looked at on a case-by-case basis," he added, rejecting Mrs. Clinton's blanket ban.
McCain said that the United Arab Emirates, home to Dubai Ports World, is "freer than China," reminding that "700 [U.S.] warships have visited Dubai."
The Arizona Republican said that he agreed with former Iraq war commander, Gen. Tommy Franks, and Joint Chiefs chairman, Gen. Peter Pace, that the UAE was a "vital" ally in the war on terror.
God, please don't stike me dead, but YES!, John McCain...
A broken clock is correct, twice a day..
McCain isn't...
Semper Fi
Oh oh, what is the press to do "the most straight talking politician" vs. "the smartest woman in the world".
Looks like MCain thinks he will be running against Hillary and is getting an early campaign start
Anybody see the show on TV?
When all the dust settles, John McCain who used his head for a change and kept a cool head is going to come out smelling like a rose.
Hollery Clinton?
This will all be over in another week. The L/MSM can only sustain non-issues for so long. Even Joe Bidden used rather concillary remarks that indicated he just wished the hill was notified earlier on. In other words, the political shrillers are being silenced as the facts emerged.
I didn't watch the Sunday shows, (I am watching the replay of FNSunday) but McCain has been in support of the UAE deal, and I can only hope he went after Hitlery for her lies and distortions.
If we did as Hillary suggests something like 90 percent of our ports would have to shut down until we could get Halliburton to take over management of the ports. Then they would scream to high Heaven that Cheney gave Haliburton the contract. Finding an American company that would want the contract or that could handle the job would be very hard.
(/snicker)
Did either of you see McCain today on one of the Sunday shows? If yes, did he mention Hitlery?

Exactly.........Is there an American company that does this?...I was under the impression there wasn't...
John McCain could not get elected assistant butt wipe at at diarrhea convention.
Since it's really just she versus Carter, you're actually going to have to defend the adminstration's position using logic, not personalities.
As for McCain's "logic" - "'Does that mean the British are not allowed?' McCain posited, before reminding that convicted al Qaeda shoe bomber Richard Reid 'was British, as you know.'" - it barely even passes the laugh test. UAE has more strikes against it than the bare fact that some of the 9/11 hijackers happened to be from there. The fact that this is the kind of sophistry that's used to defend this deal doesn't speak well for it at all.
He's won reelection how many times in AZ?
