Sen. John McCain said Sunday that the reaction to a Dubai-based company's proposed takeover of several U.S. shipping terminals has reached the point of "near-hysteria," singling out Sen. Hillary Clinton for criticism.

"The near-hysteria about this is not warranted, particularly in light of the other major crisis that we're facing throughout the world," McCain told ABC's "This Week."

The Arizona Republican criticized Mrs. Clinton for urging that all foreign opereation of U.S. ports be banned, warning that if she gets her way, "We've got a lot of disinvestment to do."

"There is no difference between McCain or Hillary, they both are crooked politicians."

We have a winner.

"There are some things a male politician cannot say about a female politician. One of the is to imply hysteria. Limbaugh might. be able to get away with something like that. But not McCain."

You are kidding, right? McCain has already gotten away with much worse than this. Rush, for example, would never have lived down this stunt:

http://www.salon.com/news/1998/06/25newsb.html

The media let that go because he was and is their darling.

Like it or not he's the odds on favorite for 2008 and he helped himself on the Port deal.

Understand. I only read the article in this post. Yea the guy is not only a royal jerk but a as*hole at best, pure political fake. And as usual. Why was his staff not updating him last October,November when the public announcements where made as to DPW's plans to buy out O&P terminal leases.
I was to kind on him. Sorry. But the point as you surmised was where we now are hearing a defused set of comments. Even some of the alphebets stopped using the term "foreigner taking control of our ports". This will be over in a few more days.

Say goodbye to the McCain/Clinton 2008 ticket. Almost humorous.

I'm not going to side with the 'Beast, but I just don't want McCain as President.

I guess I know too much about him, and being last in his class at Annapolis is the least troubling.

OMG! We have McCain actually going after a Democrat?! Wait to see what happens to Republicans if he gets power...He'll be back to his old back stabbing self.

McCain is going to be all sweetness and light to Republicans as he runs in the primary. If he wins, then crazy John will come out slashing up the the GOP.

The 'Master of Hysteria' chastising the 'Mistress of Hysteria'??

Doesn't McCain realize this jeopardizes his run for President or VP (as a Democrat?)

A Saudi Arabian company has been running 12 of our other ports since the 1970s. If we did as Hillary suggests something like 90 percent of our ports would have to shut down until we could get Halliburton to take over management of the ports. Then they would scream to high Heaven that Cheney gave Haliburton the contract. Finding an American company that would want the contract or that could handle the job would be very hard.

Yes.

Hey Shrillary, Hey Schmucky, look out your window. Read what's written on the side of the steamship. It's spelled *N*S*C*S*A*.

They've been in your harbor for years including the 8 years you were in the WH.
