I always hoped that Thompson would run for president, but he's too old now.

Paul Harvey needs a permanent substitute, I'm afraid. His broadcasts are often entertaining, but lately they're marred by his spouting off half truths and untruths about various things in the news.

Doesn't he have a son that sounds just like 'em?

Harvey is 87, Thompson is 63.

Paul Harvey is obnoxious and tiresome. I'm glad Thompson is slated to fill in.

Harvey has gone round the bend with his Bush bashing.

He's only 87? I thought he got a 10 year contract around 2000?

I must have inserted what he'd be at the end of his contract in my memory...

Paul Harvey's son is the one who does the research on THE REST OF THE STORY.

They are the only good part of Harvey's repertoire these days.

I think Harvey is going senile and doesn't really know what he's saying. It wouldn't surprise me if there he had some writers who have started pushing an agenda that isn't actually his.

63 isn't too old. Wish he would run.

It's almost too late for 2008, there's too much competition. I think there is a very strong chance that the GOP nominee will win in 2008. That would make Thompson's next chance 2016 when he's 73 which is too old.

"It's almost too late for 2008, there's too much competition."

I'm so confused. I try to keep up with the news but I have no clue as to who is going to be the GOP nominee in 2008.

It will be hard to replace the folksy voice of Paul Harvey but Thompson comes close.

And that's the rest ... of the story.

It seemss (at least to me) that it will be a three-way race between George Allen, Mike Pence and John McCain, with Condi Rice, Rudy Guiliani and Mitt Romney possibly thrown in the mix.

Two thumbs down...
