Because the daughter probably has a family and also works. It sounds like a convenient excuse for the daughter and mother to just bitch and whine while the daughter ignores her poor, old mother.

FYI, smoking is not part of health care.Listen, nursing homes are HOMES for the elderly who can't take care of themselves anymore. A SAFE place for them with 24/7 health care. They are NOT hospital but HOMES.
A place where they spend the rest of their lives!
