I agree with you that he screwed up. I am not so sure what caused his apparent disinterest. I think I can say he didn't do it on purpose to hurt people.

I think he could have handled his PR a bit better, But then again men are famous for masking their true emotions- but he still is a World Champion-and a heck of a skier. I suppose people would have embraced him had he fallen down and cried and played a victim of something.

I feel badly for him- not superior to him.

Now some people around here..well, lets just say that apparently we have some world~ class athletes - who have a good deal better experience than I in these matters.

Bwhahahaha! I am just WTH at your explanations. But don't let my opinion stop you from seeing what you want to see. Bode Miller came to party. He was TOO cool to actually WORK. And it showed. And it gave back to him exactly what he put into it, NOTHING. But, please, by all means, flick your bic and light up the night skies with it. The world needs more fans to wear the "We're Number 2" hand proudly.
