I am awestruck by his quotes. Frankly, I thought your post was a joke, but then I went to the story and can't believe it. This guy is a complete joke. He can't fall off the face of the map quick enough.

I wonder what his sponsors will do ?

Some of the sponsors were not happy after his 60 minutes comments about skiing drunk.

Well, if his sponsors are smart, they will drop him. 0-5 at the Olympics + stupid comments, perhaps Miller will fade away without the attention. Hopefully.

Sure. :) And, I´ve forgotten, special thanks to the German Armed Forces, which are the employer to many (if not most) of our medal-winning athletes. The promotion of our elite sportsmen depends on a large extent on our military. It´s, that most athletes hardly can afford to train several hours a day throughout the year, and have a normal job. It´s either your job or your sport - and so the mil a friendly employer. I don´t know, is it similar in the US?

"But I like the whole package. I always have."

I guess "the whole package" doesn't include medals, huh?

"But I like the whole package. I always have."

If you are looking for work, Bode, they are making a Brokeback Mountain sequel.......

The sponsors should drop him.

However, some of them may like the bad boy image of "Miller Time."

Let's get drunk and ski.

His way...Way, Way sucked.

Now, he could go home to his parents' cabin with no electricity and no running water.

If you read the story about Mancuso staying up very late the night before her race, her sister not preparing the meal as promised and Mancuso eating a pop tart instead, Mancuso losing her credentials, and of course wearing that ridiculous tiara, you can see how Street would be annoyed.

If Mancuso had not medalled everyone would be bashing her big time, much as they bashed Weir for his fiasco.

One of Bode's commercials makes a good point.

We ought not be telling our kids that if they can't be the BEST they ought not compete in sports.

He also said previously, that winning is not coming out first, but doing your best.

If you win, but didn't do your best, that is not good.

He's right and I can't fault any of these people for not getting the gold medals. The pressure, the expectations and the possibility of injury is immense.

The biggest disappointment of this Olympics was the NBC coverage. They can divert blame anywhere they wish but they have only themselves to blame.

AP has a story on the net today that the bright spot was last minute addition of Dick Button to all the skating competitions........

LOLOL so NBC thinks that was a great idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOLOLOL

The Koreans like to hold grudges (Roy Jones in '88 was the biggest screw job I have ever seen in sports). Looks like they got their revenge in the relay, though

The non-primetime coverage was good. No pre-packaged stories, less commercial, actual discussion about the events, and no Bob Costas (he's OK, just sick of him after 20 years - he need to grow old looking like the rest of us). For example, the hockey guys (Clement, Ferraro, Doc & Davidson) dsid a good job and were even handed.

Heard Ohno in an interview say that when he went to Korea to compete he had to have bodyguards due to the death threats. He said he simply did not return to Korea for further races.

Remember how they brought down the Olympic website last time when Ohno won the gold.
