After Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich had an embarrassing appearance on "The Daily Show," many had a good laugh. The Associated Press even reported on it:
Blagojevich says he didn't realize "The Daily Show" was a comedy spoof of the news when he sat down for an interview that ended up poking fun at the sometimes-puzzled Democratic governor.
CNN also picked up the wire story, but decided to change an interesting detail:
Blagojevich says he didn't realize "The Daily Show" was a comedy spoof of the news when he sat down for an interview that ended up poking fun at the sometimes- puzzled governor
How sad. Over something so trivial as this, CNN decided to hide Governor Blagojevich's party affiliation. And we're supposed to believe they're unbiased?
I like the Colbert Report better than The Daily Show even though I am smart enough to realize that the show is really making fun of my side, the right side, etc...but it is still very funny.
LOL....
"The interview focused on his executive order requiring pharmacies to fill prescriptions for emergency birth control.
Interviewer Jason Jones pretended to stumble over Blagojevich's name before calling him "Governor Smith." He urged Blagojevich to explain the contraception issue by playing the role of "a hot 17-year-old" and later asked if he was "the gay governor."
At one point in the interview, a startled Blagojevich looked to someone off camera and said, "Is he teasing me, or is that legit?"
How, in the name of God, can you not know it's a comedy show. In the words of John Stewart himself, THEY COME ON AFTER A SHOW ABOUT PUPPETS MAKING CRANK CALLS!
Oh this is too funny! I can't wait to see it!!!
That's Comrade Dom Blagojevich, as he's called in Illinois.
Hilarious!
The sins of omission are as egregious as the sins of commission when it comes to the MSM.
(( ping ))
You won't believe this.
It was on 2 weeks ago (according to the accompanying link).
Consider me out of the loop too. Never saw the show, never would know who or what John Stewart does.
If he looks that stupid, will liberal brown noser Jon Stewart allow it to even air?
Yaaaaay!
I think the story has a bit of the bogus to it on one level. I think Blagooglevitch KNEW it was a comedy show the whole time! Here is what I wrote on my blog:
http://www.publiusforum.blogspot.com/
"First of all, I do not believe for a moment that the Governor didn't know he was on a comedy show. I firmly believe that he is lying about not knowing. He expects us to believe that all his advisors let him go on that show without telling him it was a comedy show? And that is taking for granted that he didn't already know before hand that it was a comedy show!
Sorry, but I don't buy it at all. Blagooglevitch knew it was a comedy show and i'd guess that he was trying to seem "hip" and it went all wrong for him. It's pretty typical of his administration, though. Does anyone remember his comment that he had "testicular fortitude"? That comment was ridiculed widely and his silliness was jabbed at mercilessly.
Gov. Blagojevich is a useless fool that has done nothing at all as Gov"

Do you ever watch the Colbert Report's feature on Congressional Districts? One of the things that struck me about that is the shape of the districts -- they all look like dumbbells, for instance one in New York scoops a bit of an affluent district, I think Scarsdale or some such, and has a thin line that connects it to a big piece of the Bronx. One in New Jersey is two separate non connected islands. Try to find maps of the districts on the internet, it is almost impossible, the politicans want to hide the gerrymandering, but when you take a piece of a red area and add just enough of a blue area to make it all blue, it is as if you are negating the red area vote.
