Two weeks ago, a six-year-old boy was suspended from first grade for three days for "sexual harassment" because he allegedly put "two fingers inside [a] girl's waistband while she sat on the floor in front of him," according to an AP story.

Sexual harassment at age six. Growing up kind of fast these days, aren't they?

"He doesn't know those things," the boy's mother told the local press. "He's only six years old." The woman said she "screamed" about the suspension.

Yeah, well, I'd scream too. The whole thing is stupid--children poking at one another and then being punished for it in terms of adult concepts, described with adult words.

Another example of the idiocy of the zero tolerance policy against sexual harassment in government schools. First grade perverts... yeah right... this is what happens when teachers with dirty minds judge the innocent behavior of children... probably some of the same people who would ask us to be tolerant of sexual predators who have violated children...

Will common sense ever come back in style?

I love the authors examples of schoolyard justice 'back in the day'... When kids justice ruled... Aaaah... the good old days....

This would be funny if it wasn't so serious. The mother's right; kids don't understand that stuff. All the boy needed was a good butt-whooping and a long talk about keeping his hands to himself.

Of course, that would pretty much be illegal these days.

If a girl touched another girl like that the left would think it was good thing.

"She is simply expoloring her sexuality!"

"Will common sense ever come back in style? "

Probably not. I remember being caught playing doctor with a neighbor girl when I was about 6. My mom told us to put our clothes back on and do something else. So we went outside and played on the swings in the back yard.

Sadly... you are right...
Sense has become UNcommon...

I suppose we now have in it's place something new:
Common Stupidity

(This would explain much... not the least of which is liberalism)

Excellent post. Common sense died some years ago and is not likely to be revived.

When liberals run the skrewls, you have to consider that they have a mandatory reduction to the lowest common denominator...Common sense will never be part of the curricula, as long as lib's are in charge.

Liberals think they can legislate behavior. In adults, it is possible. In kids, they want to legislate out bullying, bigotry and so on. The problem is, this only works in adults because most (but by no means all) adults have the tools to deal with the issues. Kids don't have the tools to deal with some of those issues the same way. For the most part, kids don't grow up to be bullies or bigots, because they learn.

Liberalism is completely hopeless.
