"She said to me, 'Can't you forgive him...'"

The sticking point of this tragedy was the attempt to escape prosecution, and he succeeded. He got away with it because of the Kennedy name, IMO.

Then he threw even more salt on the wounds of already outraged Americans. He had, and still has, the arrogance to believe he deserves to be a U.S. Senator. Obviously enough Massachusetts voters agree with him. Amazing!

"...if that were my daughter..."

And lucky for him he wasn't facing Beth Twitty.

As this happened in the U.S., not Aruba, we wouldn't have to look at him on the TV ever since.

Years ago I did hear/read that Mary Jo's parents were given money. Don't know if its true or a rumor.

Gotta do a little research.

"How Ted got away with it"

Ted's Chappaquiddick, er, wrongful causing of death occurred the day before the first landing on the moon. There were hardly any details made public immediately, Cronkite's moon coverage took most of the attention away from the Kennedy case. Belatedly (see photo on this thread), Kennedy made his public statement, while wearing a neck brace he was never seen in before or since. His "adoring" beautiful wife was at his side. He sort of sounded remorseful. He said the voters of Massachusetts could decide his future. He seemed humble. He did all the right things for a short press release and the MSM was satisfied. The story died, and the facts dribbled out over time. Personally, I'm glad someone gets up and shouts "Remember Chappaquiddick" when Teddy has the nerve to show up in public. An excellent, detailed, site is http://ytedk.com/

Carlberg is good!. It's a pleasure to drink even if you're not trying to make a political statement.

I've also been looking for some Danish cookies and ham, just to show a little support.

If the students weren't so brainwashed, all of them would have been yelling "Remember Chappaquiddick".

A lot of them just don't know. It's education and a microwave setting collective memory that's lacking.

Yes, I agree. I'm glad to see he's 'off the hook', that the school sees the light, so to speak.

"He didn't do it to be obnoxious," Edward Trost said. "He was really offended."

We are all offended, and I'm glad Paul spoke out, he's speaking for so many of us.

"One of my teachers called me ignorant and told me this was an embarrassment to the school," Trost told WND. "She said to me, 'Can't you forgive him after all these years?' And I said, 'No, he killed somebody.'

Who was the teacher I wonder?
