A federal indictment unsealed Thursday charges 32 people with racketeering crimes, including people described as the acting boss, members and associates of the Genovese organized crime family.
The 42-count indictment says the defendants engaged in crimes for more than a decade.
Those crimes include murder, violent extortion of individuals and businesses, labor racketeering, obstruction of justice, narcotics trafficking, money laundering and firearms trafficking.
Federal prosecutors planned to release details at a noon news conference.
The Chin died in a federal prison in Springfield, Missouri about a month or so ago. The same prison where Gotti died.

Thanks for the update!
LOL, I have a few friends who would beg to disagree.
Then again, I use to love going to dinner at this nice restaurant in queens near me....until the owner was indicted as one of the crime family bosses.
Some great stories there.
Mafia is live and well unfortunately. I was engaed to a mafia man from NY for 6 years. He is doing life in prison now. When I read that some people here thought that the Mafia was not really around anymore I had to laugh. What world are you living in??
