WASHINGTON - The discovery of a furry, beaver-like animal that lived at the time of dinosaurs has overturned more than a century of scientific thinking about Jurassic mammals.
The find shows that the ecological role of mammals in the time of dinosaurs was far greater than previously thought, said Zhe-Xi Luo, curator of vertebrate paleontology at Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh.
The animal is the earliest swimming mammal to have been found and was the most primitive mammal to be preserved with fur, which is important to helping keep a constant body temperature, Luo said in a telephone interview.

I know. Where is the missing link in my family between my parent's generation and mine?
This is a dreadful secret which must be hushed up, of course.
It's your better half, Vade!
Yes, they do seem to be MIA: it appears they only show up whenever something hits a little too close fo comfort, now don't they?
There's a new one even for me.
Zeeba Neighba...since you have been using my sentence in your posts, perhaps those who dont know the back history of this should know...in response to an awfully nasty 'foul' post, written, by you-know-who, a discussion then followed...the 'foul' post was deemed to be so 'foul', that it was removed by the moderator...and as a result a discussion continued as to conduct shown during some of the more heated exchanges on FR...
I voiced my own personal way of trying to deal with even the most hot-headed debates...and my way, was as you posted, that I believed we should post as if face to face and treat each other with respect...that is usually how I try to conduct myself, and I find it works for me....of course, I am not try to be the 'prissy post police', or any such entity...I am just stating how I feel posting works best for me, and it might work best for others, because name-calling and being very obnoxious and very foul, can have the result of getting the offending poster banned...and no one wants that...
I did not intend to tell others how to behave when posting...everyone has their own way, their own temperment, and their own preferred method of discussion...all I was doing, was voicing my opinion as to how I try to act...
I do try to avoid namecalling,(even when I am called some mighty nasty things, which I have been), and when I get too hot and bothered I just try to leave the thread and go elsewhere(ebay and QVC are my friends)...I in no way am trying to tell others how to act...just giving my own personal views...
Namecalling always comes into play, and for the most part, its left to stand on its own...however, really 'foul', posts are removed by the moderators(which to my mind, is a mistake, let the foulness be seen as is, and who it comes from...but hey, this is Jim Robinsons site and he does as he sees fit)....
I am not trying to tell anyone else how to post...just explaining my own position...
Carry on...
And I appreciate that. When you do it, you are noble and good. When I do it, I am called names. It's just the way it is, and I accept it. Carry on.
Thanks for the ping!
Pardon?
Care to elaborate?
I really don't know who you are or how you fit into except by your explanation.Did you give anything up for LENT?
