I think I'll trust the Coast Guard over your gut. It has far more experience.

Thanks, Moe. I support Bush's decisions probably 80% of the time, but this is one of those head-scratchers for me.

Act of war?????????? We were there as peacekeepers.
A peacekeeper is most like:
1) A candy striper at a hospital ward
2) A member of a jazz band
3) A cleric
4) An accountant in an office tower
5) A soldier in a combat zone
Most people would go with choice 5; perhaps you have a different idea?

It's really a shame that the Administration didn't communicate better on this.
They've been working on this since Oct 2005.
There could have been proper press conferences and so forth.
The media can't be counted on for any facts, we the people have to dig them all out for ourselves.
This whole thing is nuts...sane and rationale people can see the advantages and the risks. I think the positives outweigh the risks.
An almost entire Arab based country, filled with US and UK expats ready to help us, a sound military base to operate from, where we can reach the entire area...
Unbelievable over reactions from government and media and public alike. This is what 8 years of CLinton has done to this country...split the house so completely we can't stand anymore....

Again, equating Islamofascists with a benign Chinese state is retarded and dangerous.
I consider China our most dangerous enemy; but, I agree with you. China is a different kind of challenge. Their's is a professional game of strategic positioning and political and economic conquest. I do not expect a terrorist attack from China. If we ever end up in a shooting war, it will come complete with patriotic speeches, marching band, and the thunder of guns; rather then heinous criminal attacks upon innocent civilians.

The Long Shoreman's union will be in control of all labor.
The U.S Coast Guard will be in charge of all Security.
The U.S. Customs will be in charge of all Containers entering and exiting the Ports.
DPW will manage tranactions and collect a fee.
It's a 7 billion dollar business investment. If attacking us were their aim, they could do it for far less money.
I don't want to overload with factual information at one time, so I will await your reply.

LOL! Yep, trusting the Coast Guard or trusting you. I can see how you would find anyone trusting the Coast Guard suspicious.

As you neglect that the home country(UK) of the company that currently operates the container terminals, gave us richard reid, the shoe bomber.
Yep, and he was a bumbling idiot. Hmmm, no wonder you keep bringing him up. Blackbird.

What next, "Bush puts Mexico in charge of U.S. border security"?
He did that already. Vicente was moving troops to the border to "control" those cross border intrusions by alledge mexican army units.

Send the word, send the word over ther -
That the Yanks are coming,
The Yanks are coming,
The drums rum-tumming
Ev'rywher.
So prepar, say a pray'r,
Send the word, send the word to bewar.
We'll be over, we'r coming over,
And we won't come back till it's over
Over ther.
[So ther.]

Repeating the same talking points over and over does not strengthen your argument. If anything it make it look as though you are running out of ideas.
