Europe started dying when Europeans (both Jewish and otherwise) began to accept the ideas that led to the murder of so many Jews. While the Nazi's are dead and communists largely rejected, those same ideas still are the mainstream of European politics and taken for granted by most Jews on both sides of the Atlantic. Those ideas put the state as the supreme authority and provider, remove consequences from individuals, insist that truth is relative, promote a materialistic ethic and undermine Judaio-Christian morality.
