Would you like to learn a little more about yourself and your fellow posters on Free Republic? If so, you might enjoy this Freeper Research Project.
It began on another thread where people were testing themselves for nerdiness. Great fun was had by all.
Along the way, Freeper patton posted a link to the Jung personality test. What an adventure! I took the test for the first time and found out I am an INFJ (I=44, N=75, F=25, J=25).
Because we were sharing the results of our tests on that thread, I was pleasantly surprised to discover three other Freepers with the same personality type. And, naturally, being curious some of us went to yet another link to find out what the code means and what famous people are INFJs:
The strange part is that INFJs are the smallest in the general population, but among those posting on the thread, INFJs were in the majority. Does that mean that INFJs are drawn to Free Republic or to those kinds of tests, or are more willing to discuss such things?
At any rate, it is a delightful musing about this forum, the posters we are drawn to (or against): does the Jung personality test have anything useful to say to us?
If you are interested or perhaps would just like to have some fun, take the test and check out the results. And if youre willing, post your results here on this thread so that we can all compare notes.
The results so far:
INFJ: Indy Pendance, Knitting a Conundrum, Grey-whiskers, Alamo-Girl INTJ: John O (67,62,25,67), hosepipe (11,50,19,56), Cyclopean Squid (44,100,62,56) INTP: marron ENFJ: .30Carbine (1,50,75,22) , phantomworker (39,57,40,12)
Only the 3 of us out of all the freepers so far?
LOL!! I read a post where someone had made note that there weren't many of us but I had no clue just how few there really were.
In all honesty, I was amazed at how right on the definition of ISFP's fit me.
WCG, have you taken this test yet? I tend to think not as I believe that you are "one of us"! Let me know!!!
For my own pleasure (; ENFJ here) I've done this. I have a document on which are the synopses, the communication styles, and the ping lists for each sorter group! What, if anything, would you like done with this?! I wanted it for purposes of communicating more effectively...but that's just me!
Too much fun!

That one would be real fun and it would probably expose the hidden DU'ers...

Each column now includes and exemplar which links to the appropriate personality profile page. (PLEASE NOTE: for you 3 Performers, I intend no disrespect to you by listing Clinton as your exemplar. It's just that of the possibilities offered, he seemed to best fit the description provided.)
Thanks, SuzyQue for percentages. There certainly seems to be no concensus as to specifics of population distribution. About all I could conclude was probably "more" of one type and "less" of another. Oh well!
However, by all measures, with about 300 respondents here, we can at least conclude that Freepers for whom this topic is of sufficient interest to post a result are overwhelmingly iNTj's. The very strong iNTj leaning can also be seen by adding all the I scores versus E scores, N versus S, J versus P and T versus F for all categories.
With that in mind, I did add to each column the relationship type all others herein supposedly have with iNTj's (linked to the page describing such terms).
Enjoy!

Just for fun, but this seems fairly accurate.
Strangely enough, I do not like crowds, but have never had trouble speaking in front of one.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
Probably not good at all...
Spoken like a true INTJ!
I haven't found any info on how a personality type would get along with the same type. I'm curious about the "Type Relationships for INTJs" section and how well it fits. http://typelogic.com/intj.html & http://typelogic.com/pairs.html
My twin brother is also an INTJ, and I was sure of that before he even took the test. My wife is an ISTJ, my "Neighbor" relationship type (not sure what to make of that). Maybe when she's angry, she would rather I live in the house next door.
INTP here. (I=78,N=88,T=75,P=11). Us INTP types have our own website, BTW :)
And for the curious, this is the 'soulmate' pairings:

Thanks for posting those links. Very useful.
ISFJ although I don't think I would have any of the jobs listed there. I'm more artistic and I had trouble answering some of the quesitons. Some could have been yes or no. lol
