The Danish Flag is a simple white cross on a field of red.

You could make one with cloth/posterboard and white mystic tape.

Or just wear red and white.

And try some Aalborg Aquavit. It will turn your nose red and your hair white !

>>Denmark has troops on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan, and has been a coalition member from the very beginning. Denmark has the strictest immigration/deportation laws in Europe. <<

Like the h@ll they do !

Denmark is one of the most liberal coutries on earth,
more so than Canada(who allow a lot of third worlders to enter our country thru theirs) .

Strict deportation laws in Western Europe only exist in
Switzerland !

Denmark, like most other of our so-called allies, have only sent a token force . Even then, they have little combat engagement .
Mostly they perform guard duties .

Kind of like Canada's contribution during the Viet Nam War - next to NADA !

Denmark has a population of just over 5 million people, and have more than 500 troops on the ground. We have cities that have much bigger populations than that. Proportionally, they are more than carrying their weight in the WOT. They are serving under the command of the British.

Denmark did allow a lot of third-worlders in during the 70's and 80's, but they are not allowing new ones in, and are expelling any that cause trouble or refuse to assimilate.

Whats with the venom against Denmark anyway? Yeah, they are socially liberal, but are still traditional in terms of their support for their monarchy, their customs, language, and their religion. They are also fiscally conservative as well. You should really rethink your position on the Danes.

Wish I could be there.

The Danes behaved in WWII like heroes. The did all they could to protect the Jews, even while occupied by the Nazi's.

The Resistance movement in Denmark was key to the liberation of the entire continent.

American hearts and minds are with you friends!

I just found it yesterday. But I think the Hitchin Story was up in the beginning of the week but I didn't realize he had a request to rally at the Danish Embassy until I read Little Green Footballs either. I hope someone posts an AFTER ACTION REPORT - if they do go.

I'm a bit under the weather, and decided I couldn't do both the Danish Embassy and Walter Reed on the same day. Hopefully some folks who went will report back.

SAMMENHOLD: FOR DENMARK
By Michelle Malkin   ·   February 24, 2006 02:46 PM

Instapundit has photos of the pro-Denmark gathering at the Danish Embassy convened by journalist Christopher Hitchens this afternoon. Looks like there was a great turnout.

Lovely photo spread over at Vital Perspective.

Blogger Greg Tinti was also there with camera and reports:

The mood of the event was unbelievably positive and all the signs and banners were nothing but respectful. People came to express their solidarity with Denmark and support free speech and that's exactly what they did. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and met some great people too.

Greg estimates there were about 200 people and a lot of media. A few of his photos:

Bill Kristol was there.

Lots more.

Wonkette's David Lat has more pics...and requisite snark.

I ended up parking in front of the Italian embassy on Whitehaven and received a $20 ticket ... a small price to pay for supporting freedom.

Well said, Theoden. I think sassy is confused. Dk has ALWAYS been our ally in the WOT and a longtime friend. I don't think sassy reads much or realizes which countries are on the good side, fighting evil.

GO DENMARK! THOR AKBAR!

I respect Hitch'/s convictions, but knowing his vices, I think somewhere in the back of his mind is the fond wish he'll
find a couple of cases of fine Danish Vodka on his doorstep in a week or so.

Well I knew a few alchoholics and believe me its no picnic watching them destroy themselves. I can only have sympathy for them because usually they have to actually hit the gutter before they will help themselves. Most are in major denial. And by that time its usually too late and they are in for some major health problems later on. I personally don't drink myself and am greatful that the disease does not run in my family.
