Israeli security officials assess that 2006 is the "target year" set by the global al-Qaeda network to carry out a mega-attack in the country, Israel's leading newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported Thursday. bin laden
According to the report, Israeli intelligence authorities detected two years ago the shift in priorities of al Qaeda towards Israel, which has been "upgraded" to the rank of a major target. Recently, al Qaeda chief in Iraq Abu Musab al-Zarqawi declared his intentions to carry out an attack in Israel.
The report added Syria has been identified as a transfer point for al Qaeda members planning to carry out attacks in Jordan and Israel. It should be mentioned that on Wednesday Israeli Deputy Chief of Staff Moshe Kaplinski said that "global Jihad forces" maintain regular bases in Lebanon and Jordan.

nice
Emotional responses don't assist in critical thinking. Israel is part of a larger struggle and can only be protected in the long run as part of that larger strategy.
Tactical concerns must be subordinate to that larger strategy.
It is those who might die in the future because of the failure of the strategic plan that should be our concern more than those who have already died. They cannot be helped.
ROFL!
I notice that horse is a medical miracle. He has two behinds... one at his tail, and the other on the saddle.
How many?
Is 3,000 in one day too many? Some would say yes.
Is 800 over a few years acceptable? It sounds as if you think so.
I got a date with Morph the Cat on Mar.13
And the horse you rode in on.
Glad to see the horse picture. Those guys aren't the best PR people in the world. That reminds me of Dukakis in the tank. Bin Laden has gone from looking like a kindly shepherd descending from the hills and living in a tent to a green horn cowboy afraid of falling off his horse.
At least he is keeping up with the Brokeback times, he is wearing a dress.
Zephaniah 2
1 Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, O undesirable nation,
2 Before the decree is issued, Or the day passes like chaff, Before the LORDs fierce anger comes upon you, Before the day of the LORDs anger comes upon you! 3 Seek the LORD, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the LORDs anger.
Judgment on Nations
4 For Gaza shall be forsaken, And Ashkelon desolate; They shall drive out Ashdod at noonday, And Ekron shall be uprooted. 5 Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast, The nation of the Cherethites! The word of the LORD is against you, O Canaan, land of the Philistines:
I will destroy you; So there shall be no inhabitant.
6 The seacoast shall be pastures, With shelters for shepherds and folds for flocks. 7 The coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; They shall feed their flocks there; In the houses of Ashkelon they shall lie down at evening. For the LORD their God will intervene for them, And return their captives.
8 I have heard the reproach of Moab, And the insults of the people of Ammon, With which they have reproached My people, And made arrogant threats against their borders. 9 Therefore, as I live, Says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be like Sodom, And the people of Ammon like Gomorrah Overrun with weeds and saltpits, And a perpetual desolation. The residue of My people shall plunder them, And the remnant of My people shall possess them.
