Yes, but how would that be done? By us telling them we'll invade or something, or by trying to strengthen the already growing ties between us? There's no one-size-fits-all foreign policy.
Be realistic, the only way to effect change is by forceably removing the exiting government, and extracting its religious underpinning. I don't care how much the king enjoys your wife's cooking, he is not going to put his head on a silver platter for you without a little outside intervention.

Well I'm trying to get at a real answer, not just a vague "remove the government" idea. Should the US go in and replace their government? Or just not deal with them, even though they've dealt squarely with us for years, and even built some of our ships? Seems to me they were once stronger allies of Al Qaeda than they are now. There's no perfect solution, but I'll take something workable and imperfect over pie-in-the-sky armchair military fantasies any day. Wouldn't you?
