Look Out, Here Comes Al
Dick Morris
February 22, 2006
Gore may be a man whose time has come in his party. It was he who warned of climate change and predicted its consequences. Hurricane Katrina was just a fulfillment of the prophesies Gore wrote about in his late-1980s book Earth in the Balance.

History indicates that candidates who won the popular vote but lost in the Electoral College have all come back to win revenge in subsequent elections. Andrew Jackson, cheated in 1824, won in 1828. Grover Cleveland, cheated in 1888, triumphed in 1892.

Could Al beat Hillary? If Mrs. Clinton persists in her support of the Iraq war, he could. But never count on Hillary losing an election over a principle. Its a bad bet. If she moves to the left on the war, as she already shows signs of doing, she would preempt Gore and Kerry and use her tremendous lead in fundraising and ex-officio delegates to cruise to the nomination.

Gore has three things going for him: A perception that he was robbed of the White House and Hillarys possible stubbornness in continuing to back the war.

The third thing? The weather. As the evidence of global climate change impresses everyone who doesnt work at the White House, Gore looks more and more like a man whose time may have come.
Morris, a former political adviser to Sen. Trent Lott (R-Miss.) and President Bill Clinton, is the author of Condi vs. Hillary: The Next Great Presidential Race.

If we had a psychological profile for presidential candidates, the left would never get to play.
Bring back Al Sharpton!
Nut doesn't fall far from the tree!
I want someone in the President's chair who has a stronger bladder.
Yes, I heard that from some people who identified themselves as Democrat and confessed this to me when they learned I wouldn't be critical of that statement.
Expect more crossover registrations to vote McCain in the primary (like the last time he ran).
Correct.
You're right.
The comparison between how they conceded is pure BS.
Dick Morris is getting senile from the toe fungus
syndrome.....Gore is ..TOAST..Saudi Arabian toast..
ie almost as bad as that other nitwit..Carter?? Jake
My cat will become president before Al Gore!
What exactly is the author's definition of gracefully? In my world Nixon withdrew gracefully, Al Gore certainly did not.
To paraphrase Oscar Wilde, "Better an interesting improbability than a boring cliche." (Wilde actually said "Better an interesting lie than a boring truth" -- I think he was referring to dinner conversation).
Exactly correct. Gore has been relevated to the dust bin of bad history.
Seriously, what Dem is going to take a chance on the inventor of the Internet? He is a LOON and everyone understands that now.
And BTW, Dick Morris is simply playing both sides again. Toe sucker.
In FahrenHYPE 911, the answer film to Michael Moore's film, Dick Morris says that he opposed all of Bush's policies except he realized the importance of the war on terror and national security and on that basis supported Bush over Kerry for president.
I bring that point up because when I hear Morris on conservative talk programs, he advised how Republicans have to give up their positions and resolved stand on conservative social issues. I don't trust his motives. He does not agree in the same things I do. He can speak and I can listen (until I tune out) but I don't give any credence to his advice. He has different objectives than I do.
As Michael Medved says at the end of lengthy interviews with openly communist guests. "I don't wish you success in your goals." (paraphrased)
Of course. At various times in the coming three years he will declare each of the following to be unbeatable: Hillary, Gore, Kerry, McCain, Giuliani, Allen, my Aunt Matilda, etc.
And if one is perceived as having a bad week he will immediately write them off as unelectable.
Completely worthless pundit.
