Sarajevo — One of the most sought-after war-crimes fugitives in the world appeared close to capture last night as Serbian government sources said that former general Ratko Mladic has been found and was negotiating his surrender after a decade in hiding.

He is said to be responsible for such atrocities in the Bosnian civil war of the 1990s as the slaughter of more than 7,000 men and boys in the United Nations safe haven of Srebrenica........"

after a decade in hiding.

A decade? You mean Clinton didn't find this guy? The press is always crowing about how long OBL has been on the run.

We can hope so. Personally I think Wes is toast in Presidential politics as a candidate.

I doubt if he could get enough money to start.

re :A decade? You mean Clinton didn't find this guy? The press is always crowing about how long OBL has been on the run.

The decision was made to not go after him until the situation in the Balkans had stabilized.

And to get the Serbs to hand him over voluntary

We empower citizen-of-the-world Bill Clinton to attack our kinsmen, the serbs, then a few years later we empower another low-life to attack Iraq. Neither of these unprovoked aggressions were in the interests of the United States. There are hidden private motivations but as a nation, we are worse off.

Our govt has been hijacked. Until we can regain control, we ought to pull the plug on further demonstrations of our awesome deadly military power. We don't owe the world much, but we owe them that.

Neither of these clowns would use the military to defend us anyway. The least we can do is stop our machines from running wild to enliven the order-out-of-chaos set.

If you knew that Catholic Croates, including priests in military uniforms, tortured and slaughtered Serbs, during the time of Hitler's reign in Germany, in such a way and in such numbers, as to shock even the Nazis, you'd know why the Serbs are behaving this way.

Some estimates put that genocide at a greater number than Hitler slaughtered in Germany. That's all been pretty mush expunged from the media. Does that tell you who dominates the media?

Those Croatian war criminals escaped justice by running through the Vatican-operated "ratline" to South America at the end of WWII.

Very interesting.

I have met several Bosnian women who had their husbands, brothers and sons murdered in their "civil" war.

I don't know a lot about the history of the region. From what I understand both sides were pretty bad.

Kind of like what Kissinger said about the Iran/Iraq War... "Too bad they both can't lose."

"Vatican? If you want to call a bunch of OSS officers the "Vatican", go ahead"

The war criminals were hid in Catholic religious buildings that were off limits to authorities. Then they were hustled off the South America. Not soldiers, priests and/or vatican personnel.
