This was discussed at some length on the Sunday Talk Show thread and whilst a few people voiced some concerns others pointed out how basic security is not affected at all.
I also used the example of how cargo is checked by various customs/government authorities here in the UK before they are shipped, so checks are done prior to shipping after they have shipped is too late.
BOR has just explained it very well on the Factor how it would be disaster to overturn this deal (if in fact they actually can in reality) as the Emirates is America's biggest supporter in the Middle East.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I wish you could make that statement your tagline for a few days. I despair at the lack of logical thinking in the US. Who do people think are supervising the loading of the ships that enter the US ports!
Hint: They are not American companies. Security does not depend on who owns the port terminal.
