A Day in the Life of President Bush - (photos) - 2.21.06

Today President Bush traveled to Golden, Colorado to participate in the Energy Conservation & Efficiency Panel at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and discuss his national energy strategy, as well as tour the lab with Dan Arvizu, the director of the laboratory. Before leaving Colorado, the President visited the troops and their families at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora.

When he arrived home at the White House, he made a statement to the press regarding the controversial port buyout by the United Arab Emirates from Great Britain.

Enjoy your much needed trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!!

... so checks are done prior to shipping - after they have shipped is too late.
#####

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I wish you could make that statement your tagline for a few days. I despair at the lack of logical thinking in the US. Who do people think are supervising the loading of the ships that enter the US ports!

Hint: They are not American companies. Security does not depend on who owns the port terminal.

I'll have to put in a good word for Rush. He was trying to calm everyone down. I turned Sean off after about two minutes.

Thanks for stopping by, Deb. It's a good day to NOT read anything but the Dose!

Yes, that was my favorite one. I've never understood those things. I know they're supposed to do something for the sound but I don't know how.

I got the original ping as well.

Maybe for some reason mods accidently pulled it but of course though it does not show on the thread it will still show in your ping or my comments list.

That is precisely why I almost never venture past the Dose. It can be scary out there in FReeperland. There are some VERY strange people out there. I'm not really sure what to think about the whole port thing but I do trust that President Bush would never put our country in danger.

It's been ugly and it's getting even bloodier. BUT, the good people are on the right side. AGAIN and as always.

There are a lot of us that don't feel comfortable with this...but still respect President Bush....

Exactly. The gratuitous comments are Wiener nation and DU talking points.

We all have to separate the idiots from the honest concern

Hmmm...I guess that makes sense. But is there a lot of wind inside the White House? ;) They use em inside too.

That's what's weird. It's NOT on my My Comments list. It has disappeared completely.

But I distinctly remember waiting for it to post (you know that it takes longer because of all the names).

"Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm: Should I join the uninformed hysteria of the FR bashers (and cowardly 'conservative' talk show hosts) OR should I trust the leaders who have for FIVE YEARS prevented a second terrorist attack in our country?!

This is a no brainer: I stand with President George W Bush, Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, General Peter Pace, and Secretary Condoleeza Rice. PRINCIPLE OVER POLITICS!"

Amen!!!!!!! It seems he has hit the nerves of some very hypocritical people to me - but that's probably wasn't his intention. His intention, as always, is to do what is right, what is constitutional, what is fair and what is in the best interest of this country and its people.

The only thing that bothers me is that it puts me in agreement with Jimmy Carter - but I figure in Jimmy's case, even a stopped watch is right twice a day!

"I'll have to put in a good word for Rush. He was trying to calm everyone down. I turned Sean off after about two minutes."

I applaud Rush for his rationality and his 'deft' support of the President -- he trusts GWB (and he knows the President will pay a political price for making the RIGHT vs. expedient decision in this matter!)

I applaud Tony Snow more for actually doing the requisite research and discovering the FACTS of this deal -- he needs to educate all his radio/FoxNews buddies!

[I turned Sean off after a MINUTE -- you're more patient than I!]

OK, now I'm off to bed!

Sean Hannity is for rookies and reactionaries, not too mention that he is so repetitive that he sounds like a broken record. I did my own research on this deal and I would much rather have DWP manage our Ports than I would the DNC
