BELGRADE (Reuters) - Top Bosnian Serb war crimes fugitive General Ratko Mladic has been arrested, the official Serbian news agency Tanjug on Tuesday quoted a local television station in Bosnia's Serb Republic as saying.
No immediate confirmation of the report was available.
Tanjug said TV BN reported the wartime Bosnian Serb Army commander had been taken into custody in the Serbian capital Belgrade and was being transferred via the northeast Bosnian city of Tuzla to the U.N. war crimes tribunal in The Hague.
An earlier report by Belgrade's "Studio B" television said Mladic had been located "in the area of Tuzla," which lies close to the mountainous border with Serbia.
Mladic was indicted in 1995 for genocide for the 43-month siege of Sarajevo which claimed 12,000 lives and for orchestrating the 1995 massacre of some 8,000 Muslims at Srebrenica, the worst atrocity in Europe since World War Two.

Interesting especially if Mladic was found in/around Tuzla, in the Federation. I thought he was in Vlasenica, if not in Serbia proper.

Before anyone flames me, I've been there and this is good news if true.

I thought many were still hiding in Tuzla. Isn't the area dominated by Serbs?

I'm pretty sure all our guys are out of Bosnia, not sure what we still have in Kosovo.
When/where were you there? I was there in 2001, at FOB Connor.

Other way around. Tuzla is in the Muslim-Croat Federation.

Ah yes, the forgotten slaughterer of Muslims, Mladic. Anyone care to guess how much liberal press this story will get?
So do you think Muslims will ever thank the western world for running this mass-murdering bastard and his scum down?

I doubt Mother Sheehan knows where the Balkans are, much less if we have troops there.

I was there from 97-98 in the hills around Sarajevo. I saw the results of his handy work.

That's right, and over the past three years I've been amazed at how the people who oppose the war in Iraq were veritable bloodhawks, when Bosnia and Kosovo were the main theaters.

Sarajevo was divided, with the front lines running through the city, not far from the famous Holiday Inn.
The Serb-held parts and positions were shelled by the Muslims, so you can't necessarily say what damage was caused by the Muslims and what was caused by the Serbs.
UN observers and officials who were there during the war 1992, 1993, etc. have testified of the Muslims mortaring Sarajevo suburbs and other parts of the city held by the Serbs, from Mount Igman.
Did you go to Mount Igman? That was controlled by the Muslims.

Mladic was indicted in 1995 for genocide Eleven years to catch one man? Someone should send this story to Hillary.
To: wvobiwan
Before you go any further, the Srebrenica story has yet to be completely dissected. The MSM's complete acceptance of the BiH government's numbers game is proving to be rather elusive in regards to the truth.
Mladic is simply a trophy for the Clintonites and the muslims.
