If the next terrorist attack comes upon us by way of one of these ports, the words "Bush's Fault" are going to become as big, as obvious, and as permanent as a circumpolar constellation.

Freepers I respect, think this is no big deal. Frist is against it. So how could it be wrong? Nevertheless, its political potential is completely negative. No good can come of it. None.

The Dems---and some Republicans---are cranking up their I-told-you-so's. This is a free ticket to the biggest Bush Bash ever, date to be announced; why shouldn't they line up for a free bop at George Bush?

And of course it is not his fault, but it will be if he can't find a way to smother this monster in its cradle.

Hey guys this is a day late and a dollar short considering what has already happened !!!!

The Planned Destruction of America

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Red Chinese Army Controls America's Largest West Coast Container Port, Long Beach, California

From Tim White http://educate-yourself.org/tw/coscocontrolslongbeachshipyards17sep04.shtml

September 17, 2004

COSCO [China Ocean Shipping Company] has, since the signing of an EXECUTIVE ORDER by President Benedict Bill Klinton in January of 1998, has taken over and totally controls the former U.S. Naval Port Facilities at Long Beach, California. This port is the largest container port on the West coast of North America and is a major conduit through with our technology is being transferred to China. W

hat most people DON'T KNOW is the fact that COSCO is 100% owned by the PLA-the People's Liberation Army of Red China [the Red Chinese Army] . COSCO has other facilities up and down both the West and East coasts of the U.S. and the Gulf Coast along with the newest port facility that they have at Freeport,The Bahamas, which is the largest container port in the World.

COSCO is intimately linked with the WAMPOA-HUTCHINSON GROUP of Hong Kong which is 100% owned by Li Kai Sheng,of the very powerful LI family of China [top Illuminati bloodline in China], Kai Sheng is a very close associate of Chinese President Zhao Zemin.

The WAMPOA-HUTCHINSON GROUP controls the PANAMA CANAL and is linked to the PLA like a Siamese Twin. This is a main reason WHY OUR COUNTRY is in such deep peril-at the hands of our TRAITOROUS Politicians, Democrat or Republican notwithstanding.

Tim White, Viet Nam Vet/Concern Citizen

COSCO Long Beach's Maiden Voyage Celebrated COSCO Long Beach, one of COSCO's new series of 8000-TEU vessels, successfully concluded her maiden voyage to the Port of Long Beach on 25 August 2004.

The maiden voyage ceremony hosted by COSCO Americas Inc for the arrival of COSCO Long Beach was attended by over 150 guests including COSCO's key clients, Long Beach city officials, Harbor Commissioners, Port Authority executives, terminal operators, members of Association of American Port Authorities (AAPA) and representatives of major liner carriers.

Heading a COSCO Container Lines (COSCON) delegation, Capt. Xu Lirong, Managing Director of COSCON delivered a speech at the maiden voyage ceremony, highlighting COSCON's dedicated efforts to improve its liner service and to accommodate the needs of a surging China-US trade.

Gao Weijie, Chairman of COSCO Americas Inc announced a congratulatory message on behalf of Capt. Wei Jiafu, President & CEO of COSCO Group. In a speech at the dinner party, Chairman Gao briefed the guests about the concept of "two transformations" in COSCO Group's strategies. He also urged the industry to continue cooperation and to better serve the growing international trade.

Zhang Liyong, President of COSCO Americas Inc presided over the dinner party. He thanked COSCO Los Angeles, Pacific Maritime Services (PMS) and the Port of Long Beach for their joint efforts of organizing the celebrating events. Congratulatory words and good wishes were expressed at the dinner by Mayor O'Neil of Long Beach, COSCO's clients as well as representatives from PMS and AAPA.

Built by Hyundai Heavy Industries, COSCO Long Beach is a time-chartered modern container vessel from German owner E.R. Schiffahrt. The deployment of COSCO Long Beach in COSCON's SEA service marks another step that COSCO has taken towards the transformation from owning ships into controlling ships. It also helps to increase COSCO's capacity on transpacific trade and to improve the quality of COSCO's liner service.

Muslims, doing the jobs Americans don't want won't do.

I think I'm like most Americans (capitalist) in this respect: I'll do just about any job that is legal if the price is right. If you can't get Americans or American companies to do a job, check your compensation rate and I think you'll discover the problem.

"...then the President will be impeached and rightly so. :
Oh please .. you're sounding like the loony left

Well, I am from the left but I'm not loony. This President will be impeached if he doesn't get control of his administration with some good horsewhippings and promptly fire those who object, including Snow, Sanborn and Chertoff et al who have been getting rich at our expense in treasure and pride.

I am sick to death of the political class in this country today that routinely screw up and us.

Sorry, I was quoting MNJohnnie. He was posting the same diatribe on every thread related to this issue.

Ok, thanks for answering. I have seen that same comment on several threads with no explanation at all and I didn't look at the posters name, but have read some of MNJohnnie's comments on this thread. Thanks again.

>>"I wonder if they'll start slinging the word "xenophobe" around as they did "sexist"."<<

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking, but was hesitant to post it. I guess I'll go ahead.

I couldn't help but have a mental picture of Laura Bush being trotted out to answer the question, "Do you think those who oppose this are xenophobes?"

"It's possible, I think that's possible."

Now, in fairness, I have no reason to believe that Bush will dig his heels in on this issue.

Incidentally, there is NO commentator I respect and admire than Rush Limbaugh. He is my all-time favorite.

I just can't see how, in this case, a semi-obscure reference to "Sun Tzu: The Art of War" trumps gool old American common sense.

You don't give Arabs control of our ports. EVER. It really is that simple.

>>Former director of DHS (Tom Ridge) says the company has been seriously vetted and cleared for this job<<

This is the same administration that says Saudi Arabia is our ally, and that Islam is a religion of peace.

Never mind the pesky facts that seem to always get in the way.

Does anyone other than a DemonRat or a MSM agent think Bush is THAT stupid or would jeopardize this country?

Other than leaving the border so wide open that any crook or terrorist can vanish into the American desert like a fart in the wind, who knows?

This "port deal" has legs as long as the Harriet Miers nomination.

And shows the same lack of judgement and wisdom.

There seems to be a whole lot of opinion and not a lot of facts here yet. Before people continue making decisions without facts should we at least not consider getting answers to some of the following questions:

Does foreign ownership equate to foreign workers when the ports are on US soil?

Have there been stipulations made by DHS that employees be US citizens?

Have there been assurances of more detectors/detection methods (approved by DHS) being utilized as part of the purchase agreement?

Who already runs/owns some of the other major US ports?

Why are there no or few US companies performing these operations? Why is the British company that is selling this business the last British company performing this service?

If we don't know the answers to some of the above questions are we not sounding more like democrats reacting simply out of emotion before knowing facts! I agree, this has hit an immediate gag reflex on me too, but I want to know the details before deciding. Since it is on US soil and the company operating the port is NOT responsible for security, it may actually be a case of keeping your friends close and your enemies closer.

What will happen is that Arab-speaking employees of the country will be sent to "co-ordinate" things with the home country. Yeah, we need more of them.
